We have 2 MK days and so Columbia Harbor House is definitely on our lunch for the first day. For our second MK day, what is better...Cosmic Rays or Pinocchio Village Haus? For myself, I don't eat meat so would need a veggie option (which I've seen on both menus)

The one time we went to Cosmic Ray's, I was so not impressed. There was WAY too much going on with the various lines with different options. I'd go with Pinocchio's Village Haus, but that's just based on being so disappointed in Cosmic Ray's! We also weren't impressed with the food. It was just okay.

I agree with this. We did not enjoy Cosmic Ray's, but actually really liked the flatbreads at Pinocchio's. Plus it was nice to sit at a table overlooking it's a small world.

1) DITTO !
2) Ray's has really gone downhill in quality and food recipes.
3) What a pity.
4) Sonny Eclipse does such a good job, but the food is truly mediocre.

Thanks. So sounds like we'll be better off at Pinocchio's then. Or I suppose we could always go to Columbia Harbor House again if we don't feel like flat breads.

I gave not had good experiences at Cosmic Ray's. I would choose Pinicchio's in a heartbeat, the flatbreads are actually pretty good.

Another vote for Pinocchio's. The biggest up side to Cosmic Ray's is that they have plastic cheese, other than that, the food is pretty 'meh' and it's always sooo crowded. The food at Pinocchio's is much better, and is really fun to sit by the window that overlooks "Small World" and wave at the people on the ride to see who waves back!

"Plastic cheese"? That doesn't sound like an up side (unless I'm misunderstanding you)

Agree with the others. We did each of those on our last trip - Pinocchio's was empty, and Cosmic Ray's was packed. Better options at Pinocchio's as well IMO.

We did both of these on our last trip and by far I would recommend Pinnocchio Village Haus. Cosmic Rays ranked as our worst meal. It was crowded and the chicken sandwich was dry and flavorless.

I know, but I'm not the one who came up with the name. It's the cheese sauce that comes from the condiment pumps. I'm not sure why it's called "plastic cheese" but it's actually really good for dipping fries in.

I too would at least check out the line at BOG. We did a busy Saturday this past winter and it was a total 30 minutes from entering line to eating our meal. Best CS food we have eaten in any park. Not sure of veggie options however, and DS7 was not trilled with his meal but I really think it was more him than the food.;)

Took persistence, but I managed to snag a BOG ADR
So don't need QS.

Definitely sounds like Pinocchio is the better option. Thanks

I think that cosmic rays is the worst place in the magic kingdom. I've never eaten the food there, but I stopped to use the restroom once, and the whole place was so loud, crowded, and chaotic that it made me feel like I was chaperoning a bunch of kids on a field trip in a museum cafeteria. Ha. I might have just hit it at a bad time of day :-) I feel like all food in the MK is just so-so, so I seek out the least chaotic experiences possible. I don't mind eating upstairs in Pinocchio's.

There are veggie options, and they *sound* quite good .... however, our experience at BOG was a solid C-. The setting is lovely (although it managed to feel sort of cafeteria like at lunch :confused3), but the actual food pales in comparison to Columbia Harbor House. I would not do it again.

That said, you couldn't have talked me out of trying it last trip. My family thought I was nuts after we waited on that bridge for 20 minutes and then got flavorless soup, dry quiche, lackluster sandwiches, and a crappy tasting cupcake (the grey stuff).

Sorry, guess I should clarify...I do eat fish / seafood...just not meat or chicken.
Dh eats everything and kids...well, they are picky but like typical kid food that the restaurants offer

Both Cosmic Ray's and Pinocchio's are terrible. CCH is great, but if you are already doing that one day, maybe try out Pecos Bill's or Tortuga Tavern. Neither are worth raving about but are a step up from CR's and PVH.

We went to Pecos Bill's late one night, and to us it is the grossest restaurant we've been to on property so far. I think I got a taco, but the beef looked like Taco Bell meat, and the toppings bar was messy. I have germophobe hang-ups about unmanned buffets and bars, though. How do I know that someone didn't stick their hands in some of the foods, especially at a cold topping/fixins bar like the one at Pecos Bill's? Maybe it was the fact that it was so late? Or maybe I should have tried something else? I don't know.

We ended up going to Cosmic Ray's because it was about the only other place open where we could get an actual meal. Cosmic Ray's is far from my fav, but it was nearly gourmet compared to what we'd encountered earlier in the night at Pecos Bill's.

My husband tried Pinocchio's once. I can't remember what he had, but he said it was pretty decent. I haven't tried it, yet, though.
