Woo Hoo!!! I am so excited!!!! We found out what we are getting back on our taxes, and it's way more than we thought. So....I'm finally getting the cosmetic surgery I've been wanting forever! I'm getting a breast augmentation and a mini-tummy tuck (Mini-Abdominoplasty). After having and nursing 4 kids, my tummy looks like a road map and I just want to get rid of the scars and extra skin, and my breasts are deflated balloons. So, has anyone had a mini-tummy tuck before? It's less invasive than a full tummy tuck in that I get to keep my belly button and they just remove and stretch everything below it. If you have, how long was the recovery time?? I'm wondering how much time I'll need and if I need to get someone to help me out for a few days! Thanks!

Dont know the answer for you, but very excited for you!

I know a lot of people are *anti-cosmetic-surgery* but I am not one of them! :teeth: Congrats!!!!

My ds10's former kindergarten teacher had a mini last summer, and she is as tight as a drum (the first time I saw her post-surgery, she grabbed my hand and made me feel her!). She had three kids and a large weight loss after that, and wanted so badly just to be proportional again (her top was so much smaller than her bottom). I remember her saying that her recovery wasn't bad at all. She had three children under six to take care of, and I think her MIL helped out for a few days. She looks just FABULOUS!

I would love to get a tummy tuck. I had a c-section 10 years ago, then lost over 100 pounds a few years ago, and there are parts of me I just can't firm up with exercise. And 'the girls' were always small anyway, so while I'm under the knife, they could give me a pair of those, too! :teeth:

Good luck with your procedure--I'll bet you're going to love your results!

Congrats! Im hoping to do the same someday, just a little help here and there! Good for you! :woohoo:

I'm excited for you!!! I have an appt next month with a cosmetic surgeon for a full tummy tuck. I wish I only had to have a mini. Good luck!!!! :thumbsup2

Great news for you!!!! I would love to have the old tummy tucked!! As for the "girls"....they went south a long time ago. I am saving for a reduction, hopefully next year....I want them small and perky!! :thumbsup2

Congrats! I was scheduled for breast augmentation last year, but had to cancel it. :(

You should definitely get help for a few days. I'm not sure about the tummy tuck, but with the breast augmentation alone, you will likely feel like you've been hit by a truck. I've heard stories of women that needed help to do basic things like pulling down their pants afterwards. Not to mention the restrictions on lifting things for awhile.

Good luck!! :goodvibes

Could you let us know how the surgery goes? I don't have any kids yet, but I'm already planning to pick things back up after they fall ;)

OT but, with the breast reduction. Can you have this just to get rid of extra skin? I was not big in that area, but swelled hugely while pregnant and nursing. Now I feel like one of those women from national geographic. Can they make them little again. I hated having a big chest. Yuck.

I had a HUGE scar from emergency abdominal surgery when I was 9 months pregnant with DD14. It turned out to be appendicitis. I was very self concious about this scar. Looked like a butt crack only in the front. I went to a plastic surgeon to talk about scar revison. He suggested a tummy tuck. So a tummy tuck it was. I was in pain, not unbearable, for several days after. I was up and around with no problem after 1 week, maybe alittle less. Still no heavy lifting. Glad I had it done and would definately do it again!!!!

I just had abdominalplasty aka TT on 1/11/06 and I also had some liposuction done to my hips, knees, and thighs and just to let you know...it HURTS :sad2: Would I do it again...you bet...I LOVE my nice flat tummy and my new found tiny waist :cool1: So if you have any questions feel free to email me...I'll even send you a link to my before and after pics. I LOVE  my plastic surgeon!!

Thanks for all of your responses! Britt, I sent you a PM. I'm so flippin excited, yet very nervous about it all too. I'm hoping to have it scheduled for sometime at the end of April or first part of May - I'm sure I'll be posting here about it - stay tuned!

If this is for medical reasons (to large, back pain etc) your insurance may cover the costs of the surgery. It is a long recovery process but worth it!

My "girls" are starting to head south themselves. We aren't sure we are done having kids so I will wait until we decide we are done !
