Has anybody stayed here recently? How were the beds (they have some bad reviews from a few years ago, just curious if that has changed)?

Any recent reviews or helpful hints when staying there would be greatly appreciated. How about the ART shuttle - many stops before/after to prepare ourselves for? We got a rate for $55 a night that we couldn't refuse, so just want to know what to expect.

Bumping up in the hopes that somebody has some more recent info. I got the room for only $55 a night - I know it is further away, but we are on a strict budget. Just curious for any recent reviews!

TIA!

Sorry I have not been on in a while, or I would have responded eariler. My family and I stayed there, we really liked it. I too was worried after reading the reviews, but was relived to find the hotel was not like they said. The staff was great, the beds were comfy (and I am VERY picky about beds), and the water was hot. These seemed to be the most common complaints. This is not a 5 star hotel and I feel that some that left complaints were expecting this. The breakfast was nice. It had more than the usual offerings. They had scambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, cereal and the usual stuff. I would recommend this hotel, especially if it is only $55/night. Go for it, I would. Hope this helps!

We stayed here in July of this year. And we just booked the $55/$65 rate for our trip in a few weeks.

Cons: The front desk staff was not friendly at all. They just seemed put out that you wanted to check in, or when you asked for towels because they were out of them by the pool.

This hotel is not within walking distance to the park. It's on the ART line, but it's a way from the park.

Pros: The rooms are clean, spacious and what you see on the website is exactly how the rooms looked. We never had any problems with housekeeping and they were actually nice, saying hello and asking if the number of towels was fine, etc.

We slept well. I'm picking about beds and have a hard time sleeping, but these were decent (I bring my own pillow though, so can't comment on those.) And the room was pretty quiet. We never heard the maids in the morning or anyone yelling or screaming.

Free Breakfast. The breakfast had a decent amount of stuff. They always had cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toast, pastries, oranges, apples, juice, coffee and tea. I think they alternate the hot items though, because one day we had scrambled eggs and pancakes and the next day it was biscuits and gravy and boiled eggs. All in all, a decent selection for being free. And the staff constantly cleaned up and refreshed food, so it wasn't dirty. However, the seating area is small and is crowded, but the room is right by the pool, so you can sit there if need be.

Also, note that when you book your room, you are charged the room rate, taxes and a $15.00/night resort fee. So your total is actually your total here. There are no extra charges for internet or parking, since that's covered in the resort fee.
