Corresponding with CM's

Thanks Andy for posting their(DCL) response. It sure is nice to know that we can send this dear CM a note letting him know we recieved his Christmas card without getting him fired.

Thanks Andy!! It's always best to get information from the "mouse's mouth"!

We've been very hesitant to correspond but now, if they ask, we will! Always nice to find mail when you are away from home with some good memories tucked inside!

I certainly hope that CMs are encouraged to continue relationships with people they have met on the ship. I would think that traveling on a cruise ship would get quite lonely if you couldn't make some friendships with people you met from around the world (whether they be other CMs or Disney guests?!)

Glad Disney confirmed that the CM ARE allowed to receive and send e mail/letters to guests. Not sure where that nonsense comment originated. The CM love to hear from guests, and many of them regularly correspond, long after the cruise has ended.Crew are not encouraged to organize meetings with guests in port, but if they bump into each other in a bar/cafe - they certainly wouldnt ignore guests. Im sure many CM meet up with past guests during their vacations from the ships, why not! Nat

I was on the Wonder the first week in December, and upon my return I sent both our Server and Assistant Server 'thank you' notes for their excellent service along with a photo we had taken with them. I was unsure of the address, so I placed both sealed letters sealed into a larger envelope with a note explaining to DCL that I wanted to thank our excellent CMs and sent it directly to the DCL terminal at Port Canaveral. Do you think the CMs will get the letters? I understand that they are very busy and may not write back, but I don't want their excellent service to go unrecognized.

As long as you put their names on the envelopes, I'm sure they will receive the cards. I always write the person's name, what department they work in, and what ship they are on. I have heard back from our former CM's and they have told me that they did receive each mailing I sent them.

Thx Nat, it was nice to hear clarification! I have met a few really nice people on our last two cruises. It has been the highlight of the trip for me!!
