I finally got to see it over the weekend. What a haunting film with a musical score that keeps coming back to you. I had to go out and get the CD the next day. If you have seen it what do you think. Will you buy the DVD when it comes out? I will.

loved it! took a while to get used to the CG effects, but i agree, the musical score was great!

Glad to hear you liked it as I want to see this movie so bad!! My DH said I'll have to go alone...oh well that's a sacrifice I will just have to make then :teeth:

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but, I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong it was good but just not what I expected. I am a HUGE NBC fan and I thiught this movie lacked the detail that we got from NBC. It seemed tokinda drag a little and then boom it was over. Like the ending was rushed. Even my 16yr DD didn't like it and her room is decorated with NBC. The music was good. I will probably still buy the DVD, I love Tim Burton. Oh well, bring on the "Goblet of Fire" and the "Cronicles of Narnia".

I saw it yesterday and I've never seen NBC but I'd say this one was ok. Not great, but worth watching if you have an hour + half to spare.

I agree with OzFan. Didn't like it much at all. I posted a review the night before the flick came out and I said that it was much too similar to NBC (music score, animation, creepy underworld character = Halloweentown characters) and not nearly as good. Disappointing to say the least. I won't be buying the DVD.

We liked it. DS and his friend really liked the music(10 yo boys) and I just thought it was sweet!!!

I haven't seen it but my 9 year old grandson did. He said it was just o.k. and gave it a 5 (out of 10). I felt bad for him because he was really looking forward to this movie.

My DD was so excited when we saw the previews during Charlie and the Choc. Factory. She was actually talking about the Corpse Bride more than Charlie. She LOVES NBC, and was really disappointed. It was similar to NBC, but the detail was missing. My music was good probably the best part of the movie. I would say don't pay full price, do a mantinee or wait for DVD. If you haven't seen NBC, then you might enjoy Corpse Bride. Jusy MHO! ;)

It was OK. The music was great, the animation great, the look great. What was lacking I thought was the story. It's just not that compelling of a story.

I love the music though - but then again, I always like Danny Elfman's music.

My DD, 19 saw it. She liked it, said it was not as good as Nightmare.
I still want to see it, will wait till it goes to $1 theatre.

IMO, it was a good $5.50 midday nap. It DID drag. We'll buy the DVD because my kids loved it. NBC was better

I loved it. I thought the music was awsome. But if they just made it a little more.... detailed with the characters. But I really did like it. :goodvibes

I loved it. But I like Tim Burton's films.
I'm going to be the Corpse Bride for Halloween. (alongside Willy Wonka!)

We saw it opening weekend and really enjoyed it. It doesn't compare to TNBC but it was still very good.

I was wondering if this movie is appropriate for a 5 year old? My DD loved Nightmare Before Christmas and watches the tape over and over again but I didn't know if this one would be too dark for her? I guess it's just the title that's putting me off from bringing her to see it...

DD11 liked it a lot. I thought it was ok. A bit too dark for me. Although I was surprised and happy as to how it ended.
