I know the Coronodo would be cheaper. Booking our reservation this weekend. Hubby has had late nights all week and haven't had the chance to talk and discuss to make reservations so this weekend we are definitely booking. What are the biggest PROS and CONS of each. What sets them apart and makes one the better choice? I've looked both over alot so just wanting some opinions on why you would choose one or the other. Thank you!princess:

The Poly is our favorite! It's so convenient being on the monorail--especially if you're there during a busy time of year. It's great to sit on the beach and watch fireworks and the electric light parade at night. We also love the overall atmosphere of the poly. However, it really depends on what appeals to you and your family.

I've been to both. It's the Poly hands down. The tropical atmosphere, transportation, Volcano Pool, EWP, fireworks from the beach. The restraunts are great and CM's were very friendly. Maybe we got a little spoiled with everthing the Poly has to offer, but after staying there, I was very disappointed in CSR. I would not return. If I were to stay in a moderate again, it would be POFQ.

If you want the best resort at WDW (IMO) it is the Poly. The best moderate is POR.

Please give yourself the opportunity to experience the Poly.
I have never stayed at CS but the Poly is simply amazing.
Below is the list of the PROS.
1. Location. This is worth the extra cost alone. Time is
money. I love the convenience of the monorail and
proximity of the TTC.
2. Views. Our first year we were in Somoa, words can't
describe what I felt sitting on the balcony and watching
the castle change colors.
3. Serene atomosphere. We hit the parks pretty hard and
it is so nice to come back to.
4. Wonderful CM's. The CM's here are outstanding, I love
hearing "Aloha" from everyone.
5. Great dining there and the GF is just a short beautiful wak
away for more dining options.
6. Neat Volcano Pool. I have never been in a pool before
where they pipe in music underwater. Cool slide also.
CONS:
1. I keep looking but I have yet to see Greg Brady, LOL

We're going back in September and this time it's going to be concierge, can't wait. Have a great trip. BTW, Steve's (Tikiman's)site has outstanding pictures and invaluable information.

I've never even been to Coronado, but I would pick it over the Poly ! My wife, daughter and I spent last weekend there in between two dvc reservations. We had never tried the Poly, but had heard many good things about it and decided to try something new.

We found the Poly to be a nice resort until the moment we laid our heads down to go to sleep. All three of us, in two different beds, had trouble sleeping both nights we were there. Considering that even with the AP discount we were paying about $250/night to stay there this was a total surprise to us !
And we are no Disney newbies - we have stayed at BWV,BCV,OKW,AKL,DxL,PoR, POFQ,AS Sports, Marriott Cypress Harbour and several downtown disney deluxes and have always had a comfortable bed to sleep in. The ONLY resort we have had trouble sleeping at was the Poly.

And since you can usually get Riverside for 1/3 the rate of the Poly, or AKL for about 1/2 I don't think we'll be going back.

We love CSR, it's our favorite moderate resort.
But, between the 2 resorts, I'd suggest the Polynesian.
Treehugger's post sums it up very well!

Treehugger....you are in the Dis Class Yearbook!!! ;)
Your yearbook picture is on page 171. :)

CSR is a great resort for the price. If you plan on spending alot of time at the parks and at the resort pool, I would go for CSR. You can't compare the 2 (apples to apples) because it really isn't fair to compare a moderate resort to a deluxe. Check out my website below for CSR pics and info.
