Coronado vs Pop Century

I’m trying to decide between Coronado and Pop Century. I’m only going for a weekend - just two nights in November - I will have park days on Saturday and Sunday. Coronado would be about $120 cheaper (I found a great deal). I’ve stayed at Coronado before and it was fine but didn’t love it, but again only two nights.

I’m traveling solo so space isn’t an issue. I usually stay in deluxe or moderate but trying to be more economical this trip but cost isn’t the only make or break factor. What would you choose?

I’m generally not a fan of Pop, but I’d probably stay there between the two just given access to the skyliner (esp. since you didn’t love Coronado the first time) if you’re planning on either HS or EPCOT.

Just wondering the price you found at Coronado and for what room type. For my dates, CS is about $100 more per night for a standard room vs Pop - avg $311 vs $220. Sunday-Thursday in early December.

Honestly I didn’t love Coronado the first time I stayed there, but I gave it a second chance a couple of years ago and I fell in love. It’s my favorite Moderate.

CSR particularly if it prices out less than Pop. I think it's a beautiful resort and you can use that savings toward other trip expenses. I love the rooms at CSR - always very quiet and comfortable and the food options there are great.

I found a deal via Priceline Express deals after reading an article on Touring Plans about how to ensure it’s a Disney property (matching ratings and location essentially). I ended up going for it and it was indeed Coronado - and a king size bed. The same room was over $210 more a night via Disney directly and I just couldn’t pass up that deal!

Aren’t Priceline Express deals non refundable?
Yes - 100% a risk. And if I hadn’t done my homework or been wrong that would’ve been unfortunate! But given that Disney’s cancellation I believe is still five days before which isn’t the most flexible cancellation policy I was willing to take the chance with Priceline.

I just had to make this same choice for Thanksgiving. I have a room at Pop booked on an AP discount. However, I could get a room at Coronado for a bit cheaper (thanks to a CM discount.) I have never stayed at Coronado. After much thought, for me, it made more sense to spend the extra money and stay at Pop. 1) I know the resort and am very comfortable there. 2) For me, the Skyliner is a game changer, especially at a busy time like Thanksgiving. Not having to deal with buses to HS and EPCOT AND having the ability to quickly get to the Riviera and the EPCOT resort area for meals makes it 100% worth the extra money for me.

I would go with whichever is cheapest since it is only two days. Not sure the last time you were at Coronado but the Three Bridges Bar is a great spot to just hang out outside with good drinks and food or the Dahlia Lounge at the top of the tower.
