Which one is better for young children? Can anyone give me plusses and minuses for either one? Decisions ...decisions...

We have stayed at both, and liked each for different reasons.

CBR- We liked that the food court, gift shops, and pool, were all together. We did not like the pool, as much. Smaller slide, and too broken up. You cannot see the kids, from one spot. The bus service was pretty decent. usually quick, but often crowded. We were in Martiniuqe 26, which is a great location. If we had been in an area farther from the big pool, and food court, I think we would have been disapointed. The sit-down restaurant Shutters, was very good.

CSR- We also had a great location 2 minutes, from pool, and 2 minutes to bus. The bus service was awsome. Never crowded, and very quick. fewer bus stops, made it much quicker getting our of the resort. We liked the pool much better there. My kids were 5, and 2 at the time. I could sit between the kiddie pool, and the big pool, and see both of them. At CBR the kiddie pool was off by itself, and You could not see the entire big pool. The pool had a very nice bar, snack shop. We were there in May, and the pools, and that snack shop closed early (8:00 if I remember right). Made it a pain, with a refillable mug, because we were as far away from the food court, as you could get.

We only ate at the food courts, once each trip. Both were just Okay.

Any other questions just ask. You will recieve many opinions, I'm sure.

For our next trip, we will prob. pick CSR. With the Martinique rooms, being preferred, and more $$, we don't like the idea of being further away from everything.

CSR would be my choice. They are both nice. It comes down to choice. Check out my website below for pics and info on CSR

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The pool is nicer at CSR but the food court and main pool are next to each other at CBR. There is a full size ironing board, iron, and coffee maker, hair dryer in the rooms at CBR now also. They always had the coffee maker but recently added the other items at CBR.

The Pepper Market at CSR I don't like. The mandatory 10% tip for them to seat you and you get real silverware seems like too much for me.

Both places are great and it really depends on if you want a "caribbean" style back dorp or a Southwestern / Mexican style back drop for your trip.
Both places have fairly colorful rooms though the rooms in the Rancho section of CSR are a bit more subdued. The rooms at CBR are a bit bigger and have 2 sinks in the vanity area. At CSR there is only 1 sink but you get a coffee maker and iron and ironing board. Both resorts have rooms that are quite a distance from the food courts. If you are interested in boating the CBR has a bigger lake to putz around in. CSR has 2-4 story buildings with elevators and stairs. CBR has 2 story buildings with only stairs.
The pool at CBR is a fun "crumbling" pirate fort with a very short slide and the hot tub is located right in the middle of everything.
CSR has a huge pool with the towering pyramid with waterfall and a nice long slide.
I love the food court at CSR but the foos at CBR was okay too just not as good.

I wish I had a $ for every CBS vs CSR thread!!!

I have stayed at both and they are both great resorts. I prefer CSR. Their pool are just cannot be beat. They playground and sand play area is right there. The pool bar also serves food items, like hotdogs, cheeseburgers, chicken wraps, chicken fingers, etc.

Huge hot tub and the pool area is more open... at CBR the different areas are separated.

both resorts are great. You can't go wrong with either.

I'm also trying to choose between CBR and CSR for my next trip and you guys aren't making it easy :p Both places look fantastic.

I've stayed at both and had a great time on both. We prefer CBR (even though we are from the Caribbean). We like the fact that the pool is in the same area as the Food Court. And we prefer the CBR's Food Court to CSR's Pepper Market. Does this mean we didn't like CSR? Absolutely not! We had a great time. Our morning walk to El Centro (CSR's main area) was lovely and we enjoyed it a lot!

Believe me, you'll have a great time at either one.

You won't go wrong with either one. Just enjoy! You're at WDW. If you staying long enough, maybe you can split your stay or you're just going to have to make another trip to try the other resort. :D

I've stayed at both. They're great resorts, but I think the pool's much better at Coronado, and it seemed to me that the buses were faster. Those are both good things when you have kids. I also like the theme of CSR more, but the kids won't care about that! Really, it's mostly a theme preference decision here.

:D

I don't have any children, but I have stayed at both resorts and I think the CSR is the better of the two, only because of the pool area. The Dig Site at the CSR is awesome and it looks as though it would be a lot of fun for kids. Although, I do have to admit, I really enjoyed the long slide there, too. Either resort is fine. It's just a matter of personal preference.

My family prefers CSR. I haven't taken my own ds there yet (he is only 3 months old) but I have been there for family reunions with many nieces and nephews. The kids all like CSR's pool and the play ground. Also, CSR has elevators where CBR does not (only a problem if you have a stroller and are not on the first floor). We also have had very good luck with the bus service at CSR--short waits and the bus was usually not full. CBR is very nice too and you will be happy with either.
