For the price difference is Coronado Springs resort worth the extra cost compared to one of the value resorts?

The rooms have 2 double beds. What extras will I get staying at a moderate as opposed to a value resort? Better pool? Bigger rooms? Better buses? Sell me on a moderate vs. value.

Pool slides and hot tubs at the main pools at all mod resorts
Lusher landscaping, including a lake and beach area
Bike and boat rentals available
Slightly larger rooms with a much nicer bathroom area that has a privacy curtain
Full service dining at Maya Grill. The only mod that does not have a full service restaurant is Port Orleans French Quarter.
Room service is available at Coronado Springs
Coronado Springs has a spa/hair salon
Double beds at mods are longer than the value doubles. Same width, different lenght. This comes from a disboarder who actually measured the difference in beds.

The overall feel at a moderate is different. It feels more laid back, more quiet, fewer families with young kids. I love the values and often stay at them but have to say the mods offer more in the way of rest and relaxation.

I've stayed at Coronado Springs and all of the values. Personally, I wouldn't pay more money to stay at CS than the values. I didn't feel like there was enough of a difference. Don't get me wrong. It was a nice resort, but I just didn't feel it was any nicer than the values.

I love CSR!! Check out these threads and visit my CSR website below.

Best Food Court – Voted by DIS’ers
Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Best Pool – Voted by Dis’ers
Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

Definitely CSR!! Better pool, a hot tub, sit down restaurant, no shared buses, centrally located (quick rides to all the parks), full menu room service, spa, gym, and salon.

CSR hands down! We didn't care for the ASMO at all. CSR for great food, transportation and pool.:)

Moderates definitely seem more peaceful, and Coronado Springs is beautiful. It really just depends on you and your tastes. There are a lot of pictures of the Values on different threads, so look around and see what you think. As for Coronado Springs, just let Buzz2001 do all the talking - that site and information is the best and will probably sell you on it.

Well, I've never stayed at CSR, only POFQ as far as mods go. We've also stayed at ASMo. ASMo was a place to sleep and grab something to eat. lol.
POFQ was great! We could def tell the difference! Sometimes we (read I) get a little sensory overload at the parks and coming back to the values only made me more tense. I have no clue why.:confused3
The room at POFQ alone was so much more relaxing to me. :cutie: Then there's the more relaxing atmosphere and less "in your face" decor. :)
So, if it were me and I'd never tried a value, I'd do it. BUT, if you have stayed in a value and you are trying to decide if mods are for you, then try it! Only then will you know if it is worth it for your family. My family will probably never go back to values, but I can't ever see us at a deluxe either. Right now, we're a mod family!

I would switch to CSR just for the fact that it doesn't share busses with any other resort. I have stayed at all the mods and CSR is my favorite hands down!

I agree with all the above posters. We've stayed at an All Stars and CSR. While the rooms may not be that much larger, there is just a more calm, peaceful feeling at these resorts. The pools are larger, with a waterslide and the landscaping is lusher. For me, the values make me feel like I'm in some sort of movie, with giant icons everywhere. CSR made me feel like I was on vacation.

We've stayed at ASMo twice and CSR once. CSR has bigger rooms - this was a big deal for us with three kids - one in a pak n play. Don't know if you could fit a pak n play in the AS rooms - I think it would be pretty tight. The busses at CSR were much faster to the parks - it's a bit closer and you don't stop at any other resorts.

I may be in the minority here but we enjoyed the food court at ASMo much more than CSR. Our kids are still little, so we liked the open feeling of ASMo food court - CSR was very tough to navigate, food was just okay - not as kid friendly IMO.

The pool was a big plus at CSR - kids loved the water slide and the Mayan pyramid - really cool!

I wouldn't think twice about going back to ASMo though, we loved it there! For small kids, the icons can't be beat - definite Disney theming.

I think your point is valid and you are not in the minority. CSR is primarily a convention resort. So their food court needs to reflect that. My kids didn't much like it but I did since it reminded me of more of a restaurant and not a food court. But for a quick meal that appeals to young kids the value food courts as well as the other mods is probably better.

I love the moderates. The key in a decision such as yours would be whether or not you plan to spend any time enjoying the resort. If the answer is no then a value is the way to go. If the answer is yes I'd definitely go with a moderate just because of the larger choices in dining and the relaxed feel of those resorts. Plus some of them have boat rides to other destinations.

I stayed at pop and cornanodo. When I go again it will be back to pop.
The cs at coronado is awesome !!!!!!!!!!!! If you stay at pop you dont share buses with other resorts just pop one bus stop for eveyrone. At coronado there are 4 bus stops for the resort, really didnt like this. The one plus is you
get a fridge at coronado in the room. At pop if you want one you pay for it. Wont sell me on the upgrade again wish I hadnt changed my mind and would have stayed at pop.
Any other questions you can email me.

I loved CS!!! The only other place i would consider staying is wilderness lodge.:)

CSR had great bus service! Really nice pool area and great atmosphere overall. I've never stayed at values so I can't say anything about them, but
we really enjoyed our stay at CSR!

I haven't stayed at a mod since 1998 and will post my impressions of CSR when I get back. I like the values and I like the deluxes...and from the pictures, I think I am going to love CSR!

Definately tell us all about it when you get back :) . We might try CSR so I want to read alot of reviews before I choose.

We have stayed at both CSR and All-Star Sports. I consider CSR to be as close to a deluxe as you can get without actually being a deluxe. It is a wonderful resort. It is more laid back and you will have more food options. You will want to avoid the food court at the values during meal times, it's a madhouse. At CSR the buses are great and the main pool is great for the kids. There are also quiet pools in each section. You will only find one pool in the values. You will be more likely to find large groups of teenagers at the values. This is where the school and sports groups tend to stay. The rooms in the values are noticeably smaller, especially the bathrooms, but they are still nice.
I would choose CSR in a heart beat.

We had a lot of the cheerleaders/football players at csr. I personally found the buses to be better at pop. The pool is beautiful at csr but we only swam a few times it was too cold. We werent anywhere close to the restuarants we were way at the back.
We waited long times for buses it seemed for some reason whatever park we were going to it seemed to be the last one. Many times there were numerous buses to the same park. Again just my opinion. If you want to know anything specific just ask.
