Which would you choose? Both are the same price point for the new years dates we are looking at. Getting to/from the parks? Thanks for any input. Won't be spending too much time in the room or resort. 2 adults 2 older teens, rope dropping and long days in the parks.

Which Port Orleans, Riverside or French Quarter? It makes a difference.

If they are the same price and the PO is FQ, then POFQ due to small resort size and one bus stop for the resort.

If they are the same price and it’s POR, then I would say whichever one has the theme that appeals to you the most. Both will have multiple bus stops, so you could have issues with crowded buses at your stop. The experience of getting to the parks is not much different between them. Both have TS and QS dining. Both have feature pools and quiet pools. Both are kind of spread out. They are very similar in everything but theme. The only advantage POR would have over CSR is that they are not a convention hotel, but if no convention is going on at CSR then that also makes no difference.

Both are bus only resorts, so neither has an advantage there. And I don't think location wise either one is necessarily better.

I'd probably choose CSR, but that's only because I've stayed at POR and haven't stayed at CSR yet.

I agree with @fla4fun. POFQ is my favorite moderate, the size is great and only one bus stop is nice. If POR, then I also agree, whatever theming you prefer. Though I think I'd still choose POR over CSR, I like the grounds better (it's a beautiful resort) and the boat to DS is a nice benefit.

Another one who love POFQ. I have not stayed at Riverside but have stayed at Coronado several times. I would choose Riverside if you plan on doing Disney Springs or having a pool day. I would stay at Coronado if it’s an adults only trip or you really like nachos :)

We like both of the PO resorts slightly better than CSR, just because of their themes and we like having the boat to DS. You really cannot go wrong with any of the Mod resorts. Our family are in the minority on DIS, as we started at Deluxes, then Mods and now POP is our go to resort ever since the skyliner, to our family, that is a giant perk and when we want to switch it up we will pick a Mod and still had just as great of a time as we did at the deluxes. Saved a lot of $$ to go towards more WDW trips. LOL

I've stayed at Coronado and both Port Orleans resorts. I loved all three of them and would be happy to stay at any of them again.

I loved how French Quarter was so compact. After long park days, it was nice to not have much walking at the resort.

I found Riverside the most peaceful resort of the three. It was nice to come back to after the busyness of the parks.

I loved Coronado for all the food options on site. The boat to Disney Springs is nice at the Port Orleans resorts, but I found it more convenient to have more food options right there at the resort

I had no major problems with the bus transportation at any of the three resorts. One minor issue was how crowded the bus stop was at French Quarter. Because it's only the 1 bus stop, there was quite a crowd of people waiting every morning and no real line for the bus. I found the experience less stressful waiting for the bus at Coronado and Riverside with the multiple stops.

I've stayed at PORS and CSR. CSR is my go to moderate, even if I can get POR (riverside or french quarter) for less. The reasons:
I love the theming at CSR.
It is just a hop skip and jump from both HS and Epcot.
I love the food options there.
I've stayed in both Casitas and Cabanas and never had any problem with the buses. The tower is the last bus stop so though it can be crowded at Cabanas, I think I only had to stand once. I actually have an upcoming trip this Sat at CSR and during my stay there will be two conventions so this should be interesting.

Having said that, I also loved the theming at River Side, I stayed in the Magnolia section and the walk to the 1st bus stop and the main buildings was just, maybe, 5 min. at most from my building. There was also a bus stop right in the back of my building but it was the last stop so could be very crowded sometimes. I don't do DS so the boat was not a benefit for me.

There really is no contest here especially when thinking about transportation.
CS has terrible transportation in my opinion.

I'd go with either Port Orleans resorts but I'd lean towards POFQ with the small layout plus you can always easily go over to POR if you want.

We have stayed at both, so I have a little experience with them. Our first ever resort at Disney was Coronado Springs. We enjoyed it but it was Huge! We never made it to the pool area because we were too tired from being at the parks all day. Our room was fine, so no complaints there. At that time, which was a while ago, the resort restaurant was not very good. However, I imagine after several years that has changed.
Then we tried POR and we Loved it!!! It became our family resort after that. We stayed in AB and liked the tropical feel of that area. Never stayed in the Mansions. Just a personal preference for us. The food court was great with lots of choices and good service. There was also HeeHaw Bob for a fun entertainment night at the resort. There are lots of bus stops, just like at CS, but it never felt like we were far from one. There is the bonus of having a boat to take you to DS, which we used several times. All in all, we would never go back to CS, but loved POR. However, everyone is different in what they like and you might love it.

Another vote for PO here, but disclaimer: I've stayed at only POFQ, never at POR, although I do go over there when I'm at POFQ.

POFQ rarely shares a bus and if it does, it's not at a peak time. I stay at FQ all the time and in the last 3 years have been on a shared bus exactly once. The other pluses of FQ are (1) small footprint; (2) boat to DS; (3) beignets!; (4) bus ride to Epcot or DHS is 10 minutes long, max; (5) if you don't want to take the boat to DS, the bus ride is really fast.

Re POR: the resort is very spread out, there are multiple bus stops, and you could end up in a building with no elevator. But it's very pretty there, the walking paths are lovely, they also have the boat to DS, and they have a TS restaurant (which FQ doesn't), Once you finish with all the internal bus stops, the ride to DHS or Epcot is also only about 10 minutes.

I've stayed at the GDT at CSR, never in the other rooms, so I can speak only to that. The GDT rooms are beautiful, however, for me, I didn't care for the QS menu selections and was not amused by the multiple bus stops.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort also gets a recommendation from me!!! A beautiful atmosphere, and most importantly, MICKEY SHAPED BEIGNETS!!!

We love CSR, but all three resorts are very nice. It just depends on what you want and what’s important to you - all things already outlined here (bus stops, food, walking, etc.). If you’re not going to be in the room much, it probably doesn’t matter much, unless you really like to boat to DS. I really feel like I’m on vacation at CSR and enjoy all the resort has to offer - I enjoy resort heavy trips, though, and am not much into DS, either. My DS was at POR in Sept. We’ve stayed there too, but a long time ago. It did have a nice vibe when we visited him, as well. And we hopped over to POFQ for biegnets. :goodvibes
