I spent 5 nights at CSR from June 12-17. My only other onsite experience was at POR in 2002.

First of all, I get a bit annoyed when people rate a Moderate or Value based on "Deluxe" expectations. So I will review this Moderate resort based on "Moderate" expectations.

Went with a group of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenage girls) and we got 2 rooms. I HIGHLY recommend this. Even if it had been 4 of us, I would have gotten two rooms. Having the extra bathroom, extra space to spread out, not being crammed in the beds together was HEAVEN. If you are debating two rooms versus one, I would scrape together every possible penny and get two rooms.

Okay, back to CSR. I read a lot of reviews and was shying away from CSR, but it was the only one with the discount code for our dates. So, we went with it and I was VERY pleased. Yes, there is a convention center, but the resort did not feel stuffy to me at all, as some people have said. There was a convention going on and we did see signs for it, but it didn't bother us.

There was very little noise, every now and then we heard some kids running, but hey, its Disneyworld. We never heard any noise from the rooms above or next to us (and there were people there).

The grounds are really stunning. As with all Disney resorts, pics just don't do it justice. Looking across the lake at night was simply gorgeous. Everything was meticulously taken care of, and every morning we saw someone cleaning, trimming, painting, etc. in order to keep it beautiful. The resort is huge. If you stay in the Ranchos, you will have a bit of a walk to the main building, be it a gorgeous walk.

We stayed in Cabanas 8A. Great location, fairly close to El Centro, the Dig site and a bus stop. The room was nice. Not luxurious, but very adequate. Everything was clean. The rooms are not huge, but they are not too small either. There was a good amount of clearance around the beds and desk. One of the doors on our TV armoire was broken and it wouldn't stay closed. I do prefer having the double sinks like POR does, versus a single sink at CSR. Good for tandem teeth brushing :D

BTW, Our rooms had privacy curtains at the vanity area. Before this I thought only CBR had that.

The staff was very helpful whenever we needed them. No problems there. I was a bit annoyed that I had to pay that 10% at the food court, BUT, the food their is a better quality than other food court food.

Transportation was fabulous once again. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus. If 15 minutes is too long for you, you might be annoyed. We waited about 30 minutes in line at MK closing for a bus, but that is to be expected at closing.

The bottom line is, if you nit-pick, I am sure you can find something wrong with the resort (or any resort). But if you know what to expect, I think you will really enjoy this resort.

Overall grade: A-. I like the double sinks better and the door to our armoire was broken. But an excellent resort nonetheless.

BTW, I gave POR a B+. Though I prefer the theme at POR and I like the double sinks, the room was not as clean and in need of some repair back in 2002. From what I understand, it's being currently rehabbed.

Thanks for the review, we are heading there for Thanksgiving. We too have 2 rooms and am looking forward to spreading out. We stayed here in 96 and I honestly don't remember too much about it except that I liked it better than CBR (we did a split). Looking forward to our trip.

Thanks for the review. I Love POR but have 2 rooms reserved at CSR, wanting to try something different. I was wondering whether or not 2 rooms were really necessary for the teens. Now I'm glad I have them. I hope I like CSR as much as I like POR.

Thanks for your insightful review. I agree with you about if you want to find something wrong ~ you will. Our goal is to stay at all the WDW resorts. CSR is one we don't know much about so thanks for the post.;)

I love CSR too. We have stayed in deluxes & are DVC owners but are planning to go back to CSR in January. My DH is begging to stay there again.

I agree that the grounds are amazing and the resort is big, but the walk is so enjoyable, I never noticed it.

We really enjoy CSR too. We usually stay at a deluxe, but when you factor in the savings, CSR is a terrific deal and is a beautiful place.

Re the 10% add-on at the Pepper Market: I suppose they'd have been smarter hiking the prices 10%, but they didn't. It doesn't bother me, all WDW food is expensive.:earsboy:

I agree! We were at CSR in August and loved this resort! We were in Cabana 9b.

I didn't have a problem paying the 10% extra at the Pepper Market, but I wasn't really crazy about the food, it was ok... but that was my only real complaint!

Other than that.... I thought the resort was beautiful, the dig site was fun, the quiet pools were nice, the CM's were very helpful, the room was a good size and in good shape, and the drinks at the pool bar and Francisco's were wonderful!!

I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for sharing you review of CSR :) We will be staying there in November for the first time. I plan on requesting Cabanas 8b.

We usually stay at deluxe resorts, but found our stay at CSR just as enjoyable. We really loved this resort!

Thanks for your review. We're staying at CSR for one night in 9 days!! I've requested the Cabana section. I'll post a report when I get back. We're looking forward to the pool!

I don't mind the 10% either. I do LOVE the food there though. The wet burrito is awesome.

Hi did you have a free fridge yet in the rooms ?? thanks Michelle

Thanks for the review ! My friend leaves tomorrow and this is where I booked her even though I've never stayed there (the rate was good). I also requested the cabanas area for her - I know they'll love it - her kids are 6 and 9 and have never been to Disney!! I'd also like to know about the room fridges - she is making a grocery stop on the way in for water and snacks.

Thanks for the report. I've walked the grounds back in 2002 and thought they were beautiful but will have my first stay there in about 3 weeks and can't wait. Like yourself, I like the double sinks as well but don't think the one sink will kill me for the short stay. I can't wait to hit the pool.

We stayed there for 5 days this past August in Cabanas 8A section. While I agree with most of the plusses about this resort, my family did not like the Pepper Market, at all. The food quality, the aggressive servers, the atmosphere. But, to each his/her own.

Overall, I can say I liked this resort, but I did not love it. It lacked, for me, any warm and fuzzy Disney magic. For such a "hot" resort it left me cold. When I talk love, I'm talking WL and AKL.
