I don't see any of the Coronado Springs restaurants listed on the 09 dining plan brochure. Are they included and if so, are they table service, counter service or snacks?

I think Coronado Springs dining is outsourced third-party, and all of the third-party restaurants don't tend to show up on the new year listings until contracts are signed.

I can almost guarantee you that they will be on the dining plan next year if they were on the plan this year.

Thanks. Nothing like the last minute huh? Would hate to book a resort and not have dining! :drinking:

I wouldn't worry about it. Coronado Springs is a great resort. Go ahead and book it. I am sure the restaurants will be added soon. Although, if you are on the Dining Plan, I am not sure that I would bother with the restaurants there. There are plenty of other choices. Maya Grill usually gets complaints about the slow service and the Pepper Market, although a good deal for CS on the Dining Plan, does add a 10% gratuity which is unusual for CS restaurants.

We always love doing CS on the Dining Plan at the Pepper Market. We have never been charged the 10% tip. Great place for prime rib and potatoes, and the quesadilla dinner is great. It is more of a dinner meal than CS. I hope it continues to be on the meal plan.

We're staying at CSR also and have delayed adding dining until I know for sure that it's included.

From what I've researched CSR is actually a good deal on the dining plan. The meals at pepper market tend to be priced higher than other food court meals but they only require 1 counter service credit. There is a meal or two priced from $16 - $20 which is great for counter service! Also the 10% gratuity is not required on the dining plan.

Are you sure about the 10% tip for the dining plan? I have seen some say yes it is automaticaly added on and others say it is not added.

We love the Maya Grill. :thumbsup2
And Pepper Market is good for a quick bite but yet something above burger and fries.
The quick grab section next to the PM has great quiche. :lovestruc

BTW cheerful chickadee -- BEAUTIFUL BABY. But I am sure you (and she) aware of that already. ;)

Also the 10% gratuity is not required on the dining plan.
Anytime was have used PM on the DDP the gratuity was taken care of automatically with the plan.

I have seen many reports that you are not charged the 10% if you are using the dining plan.

If you're paying cash, they charge it unless you get the food to go.

CSR is the only Disney resort that outsources all its restaurants - that is why they are not on the 2009 dining plan list yet.

Last year the PM, Maya Grill and Siestas didn't sign up until December BUT I heard from a friend at CSR that the Pepper Market is losing money by participating in the dining plan.

Also, there will be only 2 restaurants at Downtown Disney that will take it (Captain Jack's and Food Quest in DisneyQuest).

The number of countries is also going down as well. Only Canada, the UK, Norway, Germany, and the US will accept the dining plan.

It looks to be all restaurants that are run by outside companies will no longer be participating in the dining plan.

It's not in stone yet but just a heads up.

I think this is pretty difficult to believe - ALL the third party restaurants in Epcot dropping out of the dining plan? Including the quick services - many of those are third party also? No CSR restaurants participating? If they do that, no one who wants to use the plan will stay at CSR. Surely WDW doesn't want that. They are pushing the dining plan so hard they're practically flogging it.

But we won't really know until December. I am continuing to state that if one is planning on a 2009 dining plan trip, one should be looking at the 2008 list, not the incomplete 2009 list. (There has apparently been one instance of a restaurant dropping off the dining plan list - have heard that Fulton's participated in 2005 and then dropped out. No other third party restaurants have ever dropped the dining plan.)

We just stayed there and had the ddp.

The Pepper Market was great for CS breakfast or lunch or dinner. Lots of choices and the food is quite good. Often, we got a CS breakfast which included omelet, home fries, muffin, juice and a bottle of juice/water to take with us. the service was great, the 10% was included in the meal plan-never had to pay extra for that. Also, they were helpful and flexible with the meal plan. One time, they let me use a Cs credit to get 2 danishes, big bowl of strawberries, oj and a bottle of juice to go (this would've cost $19 if paid for separately). Sometimes, i used a snack credit to get a muffin or whatnot for breakfast. DS6 loved the Mickey waffles for breakfast.

We ate at the Maya Grill for dinner one night and it was great. Service was great, food was outstanding, waiter was super friendly. Also, we had dd2 with us (not on ddp) and they didn't charge me for her drink or her sundae that she had for dessert. I thought that was nice!

What a great deal the CSR is on the ddp. We paid $86/day for the meal plan. If we used all of one day's credits there, we got about $140 worth of food for that $86. Good value for the money.

IMO, definently bother with the restaurants there.

Spring Foods is losing money. It's always about the bottom line. Time will tell but it doesn't look good.

from what i've read on this site the DDP list of restaurants for 2009 is not finalized yet :surfweb:

That's too bad.

Pepper Market will lose even more money if it is not on the dining plan. Although we like eating there and enjoy the many options, their prices are much higher than most places.

I agree on all counts. I can't imagine Disney will be willing to accept an entire resort not accepting the dining plan, and I can't imagine the restaurants that opt out will do very well given the popularity of the plan.

We've taken trips in all but one year since the inception of the current dining plan, and Fulton's is the only restaurant I've noticed that participated and then withdrew. I think the DTD restaurants are more able to do without the plan, so I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see Wolfgang Puck or Planet Hollywood drop out, but I would be absolutely shocked if any park or resort restaurants chose not to participate.
