i have to admit.... I'm really HOPING for the towel animals/Mickey's etc..... Hopefully our room will be obvious that there are children there!!!

On another note --- can someone please remind me when we can expect our Magical Express package/tags/etc??

We will be arriving on July 12.....(through July 27).

Thank you!

I am arriving on July 7th, and I just received my Magical Express packet on Tuesday. Yours should be arriving any day now, I would think! :thumbsup2 What's odd is I haven't even received my packet from Disney yet. :confused3

Just two weeks from being on our way to CSR. :cool1: This is our second time to WDW and our first time staying at CSR.

My wife has an addiction to Dr. Pepper and I am wondering if this is available for the free refills cup at CSR?

One other question while I am at it, how long is the lap pool in the Casitas section? Is it the normal 25 meters/yards?

Thank you.

Congrats on being 2 weeks away!!

Sadly, there is no Dr. Pepper at CSR, but there is cherry coke.

I don't know about the pool.

Kath - so sorry about your computer! I had to get rid of McAfee and my screensaver in order to get my computer working again...ironic that removing the antivirus makes my computer work BETTER....:confused3

135 days until we are there. I really don't think I can wait that long!:rolleyes1

I have 571 so hush! :rotfl2:

Thanks for letting us know about your parents. We are hoping for Ranchos 7B this trip as well. So glad your Dad seems happy with the choice!

7B was my favorite!!! :lovestruc I can't wait to stay there again. I was going to request the Cabanas for our next trip so we will have stayed in all three sections...but I'm in love with the Ranchos...I don't know if I want to stay anywhere else!

Like others have said, the towel animals are hit or miss; it all depends on your mousekeeper. You could always leave a note and ask for one for the kiddes if you don't get one.

I can't answer on ME because we don't use it.

we usually have a towel animal when we check in but don't get any after that. I agree that if you want them, you should leave a note and ask.

We get our DME packets usually anywhere from 40-20 days out.

I will be sipping a fruity drink, sitting by the pool at CSR in 9 days!!!! :lmao:

Seriously, I think I am looking forward to the resort more than the parks!!
:yay:

Thanks to all of you for all of your help! I couldn't have planned this trip without the DisBoards (especially the CSR thread!) :woohoo:

We are a family of 3. Did I read somewhere that they let you have a rollaway bed in a room with 2 queen beds? If so, that would be great. None of us likes to share a bed.

Also did I read somewhere that you need to tip at the food court? I was thinking there was something different about CSR's food court. Do you order at your table and they bring you the food?

We are considering switching from CBR over to CSR. I heard that CSR has queen beds, and also that the pool might not be as crowded as CBR's. We are arriving in late October.

Thanks for the info.

Another question: Do the rooms all have the same pretty white bedding? Are the standard rooms all alike regardless of what village?

Thanks!

I don't know for sure about the rollaway situation, but would assume all resorts have a rollaway you could rent.

You are expected to tip 10% if you eat in the food court, but to avoid the tip, you can get your order to go and either take it outside to the nice tables right outside the food court, overlooking the lake or take it back to your room. Unless it's really hot, we'd rather eat outside anyway. At the Pepper Market, you check in, if you are eating inside you are seated by a hostess, a waiter comes and takes your drink order and hands you an order card. You go to whatever stations you want, place your order, hand the card to the CM, they write what you ordered and hand it back to you. When finished take your meal and card back to your table and your drink is waiting on you. When you finish your meal, leave the tip on the table and take your card to the cashier. The waiter will clear your table.

I've stayed at both CSR and CBR more than once and have always found the pool less crowded at CSR. Their hot tub is bigger is also bigger and less crowded. CBR does have two hot tubs though, instead of one, but every times we've been at CBR both their hot tubs are packed.

Another question: Do the rooms all have the same pretty white bedding? Are the standard rooms all alike regardless of what village?
Thanks!

Yes. The standard and preferred rooms both have the white comforters with aqua runners and throw pillow. I've seen pictures though of the suites which appears to have more of a biege/tan comforter. At least in the pictures--not sure though.

Thank you so much for the information, especially the tip about getting our food to go.

Yes, I read that rollaways were available. But I thought I read somewhere that a person could request one in a double queen room which surprised me. But that is great news if it is the case. In the past, we've had hotels tell us that we could only have a rollaway in a king room.

Thanks again for all the info.

You're welcome! Have a great trip! You are arriving right in between my trips. I'll be there Sept 10th-18th and Nov 26th-Dec 4th. lol We've stayed at both CBR and CSR more than once and much prefer CSR.

We are in the final stretch before our trip! Wahoo! :) I was trying to do online check-in, but every time I get to the part where I can add room requests, the system wigs out.

A pop up window appears which says "Add up to 2 room requests. Though we try to honor all requests, we cannot guarantee them, unless otherwise indicated below." However, there's nowhere to type anything. Each time I try to backspace over the existing text to write in our request, the entire screen gets almost translucent, and nothing happens unless I hit the cancel button.

Anyone else have a problem with this option??

Thanks!

You cannot request a room or building with online check-in. You can request ground floor and near transportation but that is all.

Thank you for clarifying this. I'll call to put in the request. But, it's still odd that you really can't type anything in at all. Why make a clickable box that leads to nowhere? :confused3

At Disney it's the other way around. King beds have a maximum occupancy of 2 (plus one under 3). They won't allow rollaways in king rooms. You can only get a rollaway in a room with 2 queens.

Hi, this thread is great I've skimmed through it over the last few days and would like to say thanks to everyone!
I've just booked our first WDW trip for next June (I know it's a long time away) for myself and 2 DD's. I couldn't decide on a moderate resort so I left the girls decide based on pics of the pools and they really liked the look of CSR's dig site pool and slide so booked it but I was a little unsure if I had made the right decision. I came across this thread a few days ago and it really has made me happy to hear all the positive reviews and remarks. I love the pics, the resort looks really nice. We got a good deal with free dining so don't mind booking for far in advance.
I will follow this thread for tips etc and hope that the time passes quickly :)
Thanks again..

:welcome::welcome::welcome: We are delighted to have you here. There are lots of long time CSR guests here as well as some newbies. All are more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Welcome to this fun bunch.

Just wandering if anyone has any ideas on why there are not standard or preferred rooms available for Oct 16-21. I have never stayed a CSR and had my heart set on staying there for our next trip, but when I checked only the Junior suite is available. I did ck the convention schedule but there is nothing listed for our dates. By the way, thanks for this wonderful thread - based on the info hear I just don't think the other moderates compare to CSR; and yes I have stayed at the POR and CBR.

Unfortunately, we are not aware of all conventions at CSR; the ones we have listed have been compiled by research and people offering information. However, I'm only aware of one convention in October. It could be that because of Food & Wine that the standards and preferred rooms are booked up. However, I would keep changing if your heart is set on the CSR as people do cancel all of the time. Last year when we were going, I need an extra night and could not get CSR for my whole trip (I was actually booked at POFQ and then POR), but I kept checking and about two months before my trip it became available.

Keep checking back to see. When we first booked, we could only get 6 nights at CSR, I kept checking and was able to get all 9 nights booked.

We check in tomorrow-our first CSR visit-I can't wait :cheer2::woohoo::dance3::banana::yay:
