Thanks for the review and I'm glad to know you ended up liking Ranchos 7B (that is what we've requested for our trip in September).

Your photos are terrific and I'm sure I speak for everyone that we would love to see more pictures. In fact, I may ask you if I can use some the next time I have to update the thread after it reaches it maximum number of pages.

Is there any evidence that waiting to check-in (rather than on-line check-in) will increase the chances of a room/building request being fulfilled???

I am hoping for building 9B (since my guess is there won't be any conferences when we go -- will be there the week before Labor Day).

I made a request in advance for 8A, which was noted on my reservation. I did online check-in. When I got to CSR, she pulled out my package and I was in...9B. I simply asked if there was anything available in my requested area- she made a phone call, and my room was switched to 8A. I don't know if not doing online check-in would have helped w/ the initial assignment, but it was no problem asking for a change.

Can anyone with a WDW resort reservation take the ME from the airport? I realize that they only do luggage handling if you are arriving by certain airlines and that we will have to collect our luggage ourselves. But will we be able to take ME to CSR or do we have to arrange our own transporation?

If it makes a difference, we booked the Memories FD package.

8A seems to be the most popular request. I know it's my favorite building. It's about 2 minutes from the bus stop, 2 minutes to the main pool/playground/arcade and less than five minutes to the main building.

I put in a request for it, for both my Sept and Nov/Dec trips.

I believe anyone staying at a WDW resort can use ME. Last trip there was a screw up and our ME tags didn't get sent. They just ran our name at the ME counter at Orlando airport and 2mins later we were in line for the bus. It was very quick and hassle free, no questions asked. We had to collect our own luggage when we got off the plane, but I almost preffered that. This way we had everything when we checked into the room. The trip before took about 4-5 hours for our luggage to show up. Some people might not care about that, but I like having all my stuff there and it only took an extra 10 mins to grab our luggage. This was on a weekday at around 5:30pm, getting your luggage might be a bigger hassle at a busier time.

For the refillable mugs at the Dig Site, can you refill them at any hour or only when the Siesta (I think that is the name) is open?

Only during Siesta's operating hours (I believe they are usually 11 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m.)

I did online check-in in March at CSR and for my stay this week at Pop Century. I got my request for CSR, 8A. The room wasn't ready until after 4pm sometime, but it was worth the wait to get the building we wanted!!

For this stay we just did at POP, I did online check in and got the building I requested their too!

So in my experiences, we were fine requesting when we made our reservation for the building we wanted, then doing online check-in at the 10 day mark.

In regards to online check-in & building request, I had my cabanas 8A or 8B request tied to our reservation. I did do online check-in, but was assigned to Casitas 5. There was nothing available in the cabanas, so I settled for Ranchos 7B. Looks like it doesn't really matter if you make a request--seems to come down to the Cast Member at the check-in desk and what's left for rooms when you arrive. Guess I'll see what happens in September....but I'll just be HAPPY to be back at the Coronado, regardless of where my room is located! (Can you tell I'm missing my nightly gelato at Cafe Rix? )

We had to visit "home" while we stayed at Pop this week just for the gelato! Ate supper at the PM on Wednesday and our server said we could go over there and bring our dessert back with us from Cafe Rix, since they don't serve it at the PM.

Agreed! My oldest boy got some kind of brownie flavored chocolate gelato and the little guy got cookies and cream. It hit the spot!

I still have our POFQ resie for Sept 23-26! You have overlap some of that time, right?

I was trying to switch from POFQ to CSR, but it wasn't available. But for almost $100 less I could get POR. Turned out I booked the wrong week, because I couldn't remember the dates for FQ and she couldn't find my resie in the computer system. Thankfully the cm making couldn't find my resie for FQ! When I got home I realized the date was one my husband couldn't get off, so I asked to change the date to AUG and CSR was available!! I now have 3 upcoming trips this year!! I think my husband now has "it" as bad as me! (if that made sense? I am bouncing off the walls tonight in excitement)

Just checked in CSR for our first visit!! It is a beautiful resort! We are in ranchos 7B and it is perfect! I love tbe easy stroll to El Centro. We had a yummy sooner at Pepper Market. There isn't anything confusing about it! I love the bathroom set up too. We have stayed at WL and BWV but so far I prefer this!!
