Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- October 2010

Hi all! I've taken over the 2011 Confirmed Snacks thread and wondering if anyone that has stayed at CSR recently has any photos showing the CS menus with DDP next to snacks? Or if you are going soon could you take a few photos and send them to me?

We are going to WDW in just 8 days but I don't think I'll make it to CSR to verify the Snack choices. Right now I have very little info any locations there that allow usage of SC.

Does Cafe Rix take SC for their Gelatos?

TIA

If you don't hear from someone soon, I will try to make it my mission in 2 weeks to snap pics to find out.

Yes they do but I think it was only for the small size not the large.

I really enjoy this resort...true, it's large, but I really don't mind the walk. I love the pools, the bike rentals, the boat rentals and how well maintained the grounds are. I also like Pepper Market, granted it's not gourmet food, but just fine for lunch. The bus system runs smoothly and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I'm planning on going back in Sept. 2012 for a 2 week stay and looking forward to having a gelato cone!:thumbsup2

I took a bunch of pictures in December 2008 and you can see them here starting at post #728. There is also a CSR picture thread here with lots of pictures of the resort including Christmas decorations.

Thanks I'll check out that thread as well. What I'm really looking for are photos taken this year (since the DDP changes all the time) and even better ones taken within the last few months.

I'm pretty sure Pepper Market/Cafe Rix does not include the DDP snack symbols on their menus, but they do accept the DDP. Just about anything $4 and under qualifies as a snack credit. There are maybe a couple of exceptions but for the most part that is the rule. Always feel free to ask when you're there about a specific item if you're not sure. :)

Is there a better chance of getting your desired location if you book through a travel agent instead of booking yourself? We've paid for king, waterview and hoping for Cabanas, which is noted on our reservation.

Unfortunately, they have done away with the bike rentals and boat rentals :(
but they did add a campfire and pool activities!

Does anyone know if Panchito's sells a 6 pack of Juice boxes (like the motts 6 pack) or a case of water?

I was going to order from Garden Grocer but they have a $40 minimum and I don't really need that much. I would really just want a case of water and like 2 six packs of Juice boxes. If not, it's not the worst thing. We can always just buy as we go along but I am imagining that is going to get pricey by the end of the trip.

We saw only minute maid apple juice boxes sold individually, not as a pack. Same with the water bottles, they sold them individually. There is a Hess gas station near the boardwalk and another near DTD market place, they have cases of bottled water. I know they had capri suns last time I was in there, not sure if they had any juice boxes that were 100% juice though.

Oh man, that's too bad. I was there in 2008 and had a great time. When did they do away w/them? Must not have rented enough to make ends meet. Bummer.

Thanks Lovethattink, is it easy enough to get to the HESS station from DTD? We are heaed to DTD on our first night so I guess picking up a case of water might be an option. I can live w/o the juice boxes. DD loves water so can always drink the bottles and can have juice w/ her meals.

Thanks again.

Are there towels available at the main pool and if so, are they available for all hours that the pool is open? What about the towel situation at the "quiet" pools?

The marina was closed in March when we were there and again in August. I asked how long it will be closed and was told til further notice.

There was a bass nitro boat there in March, but didn't see any in August.

You will have to cross a busy intersection to get across the street, the Hess station is next to Disney Casting. There are cross walks and plenty of cm using them that park at Casting, the upper cross walk would be in use to for the people staying at the DTD resorts.

Towels are available at the Casitas Village pool, located on a shelf outside the fitness center and at several locations around the Dig Site. Towels are not available at the Cabana Village pool or the Ranchos village pool. You can ask housekeeping for extra towels for those village pools.

A quick question for anyone who has gone recently. Do the TVs have inputs to hook up a DVD player or game system?

Thanks, that would be great. Whatever you can find out will be most helpful.

Thanks, I'll make a notation on the list. :goodvibes

Leave very soon:cool1: Does anyone know much about the games they play at the pool? Is it more for little ones? I have a 10 year old and despite him going to the "happiest place on earth" he has seen the pictures of the pool and is most excited about spending his time there.
I cant wait to drive up to that Coronado Springs resort sign!!

Anyone know the current cost of the laundry facilities at CSR? Only 14 days till we leave and I'm trying to pack light.

It costs $2 to wash, and $2 to dry for 30min. You can also purchase laundry detergent/dryer sheets/softener there for a few dollars, but I would recommend you bring Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets with you.

yep! I remember pointing it out to my DD that we should have brought our small DVD player so we didn't have to hunt for something on TV at night.
