They absolutely can "turn off", or in this case, never program cards to be able to pull FPs. I lost my KTTW card last year and the CM who "helped" me gave me a real mess. I ended up with one card that was my Park entry ticket and I used that to get FPs. I had to be issued another one to be able to open my room door and for charging. But it wasn't able to do anything else. So I definitely believe this is happening. Just stinks as I don't find the ability to pre-book three better than pulling unlimited same day ones. I can only think Disney things advanced FP is better as that is what they are giving their resort guests, but I think they are way off on this one. I would much rather send my husband all over the parks to get our FPs and not be limited!

But if the purpose of them giving you a KTTW card with your MB is in case your MB is failing at the tapstiles, that means your KTTW would need to have valid tickets on it which seems to be what triggers the paper FP machine to work. So who knows what they are capable of doing... I'm not even sure Disney knows!

Just got back from our stay, and I apologize if someone has already mentioned this, but I haven't read through all the posts since I was gone. Anyway, if you want to do morning extra magic hours, you NEED a room key. Two of the three parks we visited for morning EMH required folks to show a room key...apparently the Magic Band was not sufficient. It seemed really silly to me (and lots of other folks too) but that was how it was. We only needed to show one for our entire party, so I was so thankful that my husband was carrying his out of habit.

I would imagine if they start doing away with KTTW cards for some guests after 10/27, they would have to change this procedure.

Soooo beyond excited right now!!! We got our Magic Bands 2 days ago and our AAA package with vouchers and Magic Express yesterday! Checking in to CSR on 11/21 and spending Thanksgiving with the Mouse.

This is our first time at CSR and our first family vacation since DD was born just the 3 of us we were there in July and stayed at the Treehouse Villas with my mom and FIL and had so much fun we couldn't stay away. Upgraded our park passes to annual, researched free dining weeks and here we are!

Funny, MouseMama11, we check in the same day that you do at CSR! We also got our Magic Bands 2 days ago and we had to put them on as soon as everyone got home to try them out!

This is our first time to stay at CSR and our first time at Disney during the holidays (only ever been during the summer & at Halloween times), so we are all beyond excited too!!! 27 days!!!!!

How fun! We're checking in the same day, too! It will be my youngest cousin's first trip... So excited to see it through the eyes of a first timer again!

The holidays are absolutely fantastic! We spent Christmas there last year... Extra magical for sure!

CSR is nice....buildings near the pool area are more family like in feeling.....Mainly a business hotel as compared to other Disney hotels we have stayed at....Food is ok but nothing I would leave the parks for to return to eat at (Breakfast starts LATE! in the sit down section.....they have a grab and go but a poor value for your money especially if you are on the dining plan).....We will be rooming near the gym.....You can look for us with the Red Family Trip Logo Wheeler Shirts on (Yes we are one of those families that has trip shirts made a the T-Shirt store)...We hope you have a wonderful time

PS We are still looking for someone to do a photo pass share with if anyone sees a posting for a group doing a photo share at that time

We are staying at CSR for our first time Dec 21-28. We switched a few times between here and CBR. We have a standard room booked with free dining I checked in online and requested cabanas and close to transportation. We're looking forward to our stay here!
