For our January 23-30 2013 vacation, we'll be staying at CSR for the very first time, based on all the great information I've found here! :yay:

Thank you, one and all!

Anyone else going around this time?

thank you for the picture...
i thought it was possible to use the pools the whole night. last year we saw people using the pools at POP at 1am on several days...

After hearing that the surf pool at ASSp will be closed next month I'm VERY happy I had upgraded now since I had originally paid preferred and asked for poolside.

thank you for the picture...

Just speculation, but as long as you're not too noisy and obnoxious (and sometimes not even that) I think they let you be. I know I'm an early swimmer and have been left alone in the past.

Thanks sooo much everyone for all the info! I just love to go swimming, and think it would be great to go later just to go for a quick dip!

We will be staying at CSR by default (couldn't get either of our favs, POFQ or POR). We've never stayed at CSR, and only been there once and that was to the gift shop many years ago. It will just be DH and I the last week of October and free dining. The CM suggested the Casita section. Since I have no idea at all about the location of the buildings, I wonder if there is a specific building I should request. She suggested Casita because I told her my DH will not want to do a lot of walking at the end of the day. She said the Casitas are located closest to the food court and main lobby. Any building suggestions for us? TIA. I might add that I looked at the photos at the beginning of this thread and I'm not as disappointed now as I was (about not getting POR or POFQ). :thumbsup2

Casitas or Cabanas is good. Rather than requesting a certain building, you can request "close to El Centro" is that is where you'd like to be.

I'm a big fan of POR (I consider that to be our "home" resort) and POFQ. CSR is really not more spread out that POR, but the set-up is different with the central lake in that you can see the whole resort from one place unlike at POR where you may take meandering paths from far flung areas of AB.

This will be our 2nd stay at CSR, also by default as I requested POR or POFQ, but we're not disappointed at all about getting CSR. It's a lovely resort and we do like it a lot! The atmosphere is very relaxing, and my dd thinks it has the best pool slide.

The biggest 3 things I miss about "home" is the boat to DTD, Bob Jackson's show and being able to walk to it, and the fact that there are hooks on the wall in the other rooms and for whatever reason CSR does not provide hooks.

Favorite things about CSR are the lovely atmosphere (I think it's the most "deluxe" moderate), Pepper Market is a great deal on the DDP, the pool slide, and the sliding door to the bathroom area is nice. You can also get your mugs refilled at the pool bar, though I think the pool bar is not open in the evenings. I really like the bus service at CSR in that the buses ALWAYS stop at the stops in the same order, so you can hop on any park bus to get to El Centro. The bus stop order at POR is random. I like the organized bus service at CSR! I think you'll enjoy your stay, and it is fun to try something new. Perhaps you'll have a new favorite resort.

Thanks, Kelly. That makes me feel a lot better about staying there. I am excited about trying something new, the downside is I won't know all the neat little things to do, etc. at CSR, but I will learn. The CM who handled my reservation told me the beds there are great. I'm looking forward to that. :yay:

I just wanted to share this photo I took last night at the Coronado Springs Resort.

It's such a beautiful and magical place, one of my all time favorite resorts to explore.

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on these two conventions:
Sept 3 - 5, Celebration Ministries - Youth Leaders Conference
Sept 6 - 9, TH Fitness Weekend

We will be at CSR the 2nd through the 8th

Having stayed at both POR ad CSR, I can say they're both great resorts. We really love POR, however, I thought the rooms at CSR were much nicer. Both resorts have different but very beautiful grounds. I think you'll like it.

We were deciding between FQ and CSR for our next trip and after checking out all the photo's and information we made our decision.
CSR will be our next home when we visit. Now for the rest of our planning:crazy2:

We are staying here for the 1st time in December!! I was a little nervous with booking but after reading all of this information I can't wait!!!

I have a question about the wi fi. In the past I brought our own apple mini router for our i-touch and laptop. I have read in this thread the wi fi is spotty in some of the rooms. With the new free wi fi is the port still availible in the rooms to hook up a router to get a better signal? Thank you for any help.

I am wondering if I should make a building request...but I really like all the different outdoor themes for all the different parts. I've never been but I've looked at pictures.

Does the theme really make that much difference to anyone else? Or does everyone just try to stay close to the lobby?
