Thanks...I realize this is based on personal opinion, but is the resort particularly popular when there isn't a convention? Or am I likely to enjoy relative quiet during our stay?

We have stayed there four times, both with and without noticeable conventions, and it has always been quiet. CSR is spread out, and the separate buildings seem to keep things quieter. During our last stay in cabanas, we didn't hear anyone walk past our door the entire trip. There would be no reason to go past our door unless you were staying in our building - all of the main walkways are a bit away from the rooms.

The only noise issues I have ever read about are people being in the "quiet" pools until late. We generally pay for a standard view and haven't overlooked the quiet pools. There are no rooms that overlook the main pool, so noise from the main pool isn't an issue.

There is one convention the end of February each year that overtakes the grounds. People do complain if they are at CSR during that convention. I don't think the attendees are particularly rowdy, but there are so many of them and they have events on the grounds in the evenings.

We were located RIGHT next to a quiet pool (2nd floor) and on a 6 night visit, never once had trouble with ANY noise (day or night) from that pool. And we were there during spring break -- very busy time.

It was absolutely gorgeous and we loved every minute there. So pretty.

We stayed in Cabanas - 1st floor and what I loved was that it was peaceful and quiet... but if I felt like a little more noise.. we were very close to Dig Site! All the rooms are far enough so that you dont get the noise from the Dig Site which I loved! Also main walk area is not directly next to rooms which means no one will walk by your door unless they need to get to their room.

After the craziness of the parks it is nice to have such a great resort with comfy beds and tranquility to come back to.. yet still with the amazing things Disney has to offer

On DDP, when we dined in PM, our server told us that if we brought in our mugs, he would refill them for us and then give us bottled water as our drink on the DDP. I didn't know this and wish we had done it sooner! It must be fairly common knowledge because I had seen people doing it and wondered what was up. I thought they were purchasing water for later or something.

I probably should have been clearer...but what I actually meant as "quiet" was along the lines of "Do the bus/food lines become a "trial-by-death" to get on?" :lmao:

Pool/most children noise rarely bothers us.

The first week of September, unless there is a large convention, you should have pretty good luck with a request.

The main pool is really nice and because the resort is a convention hotel, it is not normally as crazy as some of the other resorts. There is also a nice large hot tub there, and the bar is good with decent food.

I just read yesterday that the creator of P90X is doing training in person at the WWofS and various Disney World locations. The package includes 3 nights at Coronado Springs. He is there Sept 6-9.

We arrive in the evening on Sept 7 so if there is a big crowd, especially in the Casitas, it will only affect us for two of our days max. We aren't in preferred rooms.

The good news is, the actual training is not at Coronado! The package includes transportation to the training expo venues

Even though I just read the above posts I am hoping for some personal advice. :teacher:

DW just agreed to upgrade from ASSp to CSR after shooting down my Poly. We are headed there Sept. 14-22 and am considering paying for preferred (Casitas 1, 2, or 3 from what I've read) partially because I am mobility impaired and use a wheelchair/scooter and like to be near the food courts. I am partial to ground floor courtyard rooms. Is this a good idea? If not, what do you recommend? I could live with the Cabanas but dread the idea of going standard and being assigned to Rancheros.

Can anyone confirm there does not appear to be a convention at that time? What effect will this likely have on buses and crowd level at the resort?

More as I think of them...:thumbsup2

There is a Tony Horton P90X/Wide World of Sports event Sept 6-9. The package includes 3 nights stay at Coronado Springs. The associated events are not at CS though. I wouldn't consider this a convention but it might draw quite a few people for rooms...

I took the plunge and changed my res to CSR... :yay:

...but instead of booking preferred I opted for water view. This should still hopefully keep me in Castitas or Cabanas and I specifically asked for Castitas 4 to be near the bus and within reason of Pepper Market/El Centro...

...but I'm not feeling lucky and suspect I'll be in Cabanas. Far from a bad choice but I worry about bus service. Any ideas what to expect for a scooter-user, especially to Epcot and MNSSHP?

Where can you find the list of conventions?
we are going August 15 -22 and I'm sort of hoping for a convention to keep thecrowds down at the pool and buses!

Don't get me wrong, the Casitas area and buildings are beautiful, but... Don't think that Cabanas are less great.

I think the Cabanas are the best, most relaxing area at the resort. If you get a water view at Cabanas you'll either get a lake view or a view of the quiet pool.

If you're in Cabanas 8A or 8B you have a short walk to the baus stop. If you are in 9A or 9B you have a very short walk to the main building, and the other two are probably as close or closer to the main building as Casitas 4.

Actually like the Cabanas but worry because they are the last bus stop. I plan on a mix of driving and bus.

First page has a list along with a lot of other goodies.

Will CSR Bell Services deliver groceries from Garden Grocer after 10pm? We are landing at 9:40p, and I am trying to decide whether to have the groceries delivered to Bell Services that day at the latest time (for Bell Services to bring to us after we check in at 10:30p or so) or to have them delivered the next day.

We're staying here next year for the big family trip and I can't wait! we've stayed here for then past few trips (2007, 08, '10 and '11), and it has to be my favorite resort.

The only thing that worries me is the change to the Pepper Market that Kevin did a review on. I hope they fix it.

Thanks! I added this to the list on the first page. :goodvibes

Just got back from stay June 20 - 26.

Housekeeping--no issues. The first day they didn't even take the tip.

Room location Ranchos 9 B. Couldn't have asked for a better one. Ground floor and the few times we heard people were too tired to care/let it bother us.

Buses: service was good. Never waited longer than 20 minutes (except one night at MK). Bus didn't share with any other resorts. Once on a bus to EPCOT we did stop at Blizzard Beach.

Dressing room doors (door between bedroom and bath area). Had trouble getting them to close all the way. Had to "wrestle" with them to get them fully closed.

Wake up call. They missed one morning and one morning was just a mechanical voice--not Mickey or other Disney friends. Halfway through the trip the message for setting a call switched to spanish. Instead of pressing 2 for spanish we had to wait for the message and then push 2 for english.

Luggage/baggage services: excellent. There when they said they would be and took bags from room to car instead of just to baggage services.

Unless they've change the order, other than DTD they stop at the 3 outer stops BEFORE they stop at the main building stop.
