Thanks...I realize this is based on personal opinion, but is the resort particularly popular when there isn't a convention? Or am I likely to enjoy relative quiet during our stay?
The first week of September, unless there is a large convention, you should have pretty good luck with a request.
The main pool is really nice and because the resort is a convention hotel, it is not normally as crazy as some of the other resorts. There is also a nice large hot tub there, and the bar is good with decent food.
Even though I just read the above posts I am hoping for some personal advice.
DW just agreed to upgrade from ASSp to CSR after shooting down my Poly.We are headed there Sept. 14-22 and am considering paying for preferred (Casitas 1, 2, or 3 from what I've read) partially because I am mobility impaired and use a wheelchair/scooter and like to be near the food courts. I am partial to ground floor courtyard rooms. Is this a good idea? If not, what do you recommend? I could live with the Cabanas but dread the idea of going standard and being assigned to Rancheros.
Can anyone confirm there does not appear to be a convention at that time? What effect will this likely have on buses and crowd level at the resort?
More as I think of them...![]()
I took the plunge and changed my res to CSR...
...but instead of booking preferred I opted for water view. This should still hopefully keep me in Castitas or Cabanas and I specifically asked for Castitas 4 to be near the bus and within reason of Pepper Market/El Centro...
...but I'm not feeling lucky and suspect I'll be in Cabanas. Far from a bad choice but I worry about bus service. Any ideas what to expect for a scooter-user, especially to Epcot and MNSSHP?
Don't get me wrong, the Casitas area and buildings are beautiful, but... Don't think that Cabanas are less great.
I think the Cabanas are the best, most relaxing area at the resort. If you get a water view at Cabanas you'll either get a lake view or a view of the quiet pool.
If you're in Cabanas 8A or 8B you have a short walk to the baus stop. If you are in 9A or 9B you have a very short walk to the main building, and the other two are probably as close or closer to the main building as Casitas 4.
Where can you find the list of conventions?
we are going August 15 -22 and I'm sort of hoping for a convention to keep thecrowds down at the pool and buses!
I did not see this on the Convention List on the first page. We will be there for the Children's Miracle Network convention on September 19-21. (http://registration.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/index.aspx)
There is a Tony Horton P90X/Wide World of Sports event Sept 6-9. The package includes 3 nights stay at Coronado Springs. The associated events are not at CS though. I wouldn't consider this a convention but it might draw quite a few people for rooms...
Actually like the Cabanas but worry because they are the last bus stop. I plan on a mix of driving and bus.
First page has a list along with a lot of other goodies.
Unless they've change the order, other than DTD they stop at the 3 outer stops BEFORE they stop at the main building stop.
