What do you all mean by upgraded toiletries being featured at CSR? Isn't it the same
H20 stuff? That's what I got at POR in the fall and CBR the year before that. Is it something different? I'm very curious now!

It is H2O+ stuff. The values and the other moderates have one line that contains a shampoo and conditioner combo. CSR has the same line as the deluxes (except GF) that has a separate shampoo and conditioner. GF has the Spa line, which is the same as DCL. The line at CSR and the deluxes is called Aquatics - it may be the same line as the values and other mods, but with the separate shampoo and conditioner.

CSR has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, bath soap and face soap. I think the suites have a few more products. Some people have reported only getting shampoo/conditioner combo, body wash (I think) and one kind of soap at the values and other moderates.

I too am a Poly addict. Our last stay was on free dining AND a budget so that is why we chose CSR. It is a beautiful resort. Rooms were very nice. We actually think CSR has the best pool on property. We liked it better than SAB and the pools at CR and Poly. It is HUGE, has a great waterslide, really nice bathrooms, and we love being able to eat and drink right there at the pool. Siestas was delish. The mojito was very refreshing...athough not my all time fav which is the pina colava at Poly(sipping it on the beach looking at the castle and listening to the boats and train whistles:cloud9:)

Anyhoo.....DH and I would definitely consider staying here again if it was just the two of us. Would not do it again with the girls as DD10 has lots of food allergies and we ran in to trouble here the last few days of the trip. Language barrier is a real issue. We do not have another Disney trip planned in the near future but we already decided as a family that our last trip to WDW before oldest goes to college will be back to our beloved Poly.

One of these days I will pull up some of my pics from the CSR trip in October and get them posted. There are so many picturesque locales around the Casitas for family photos. It is a must! And--there are always helpful CMs and CSR guests that are willing--even offering--to take the pics for you so that noone is left out.

I do recognize your name from the Poly thread :) I have actually heard of folks getting Pina Colavas at other resorts too! Although I like it, it is too rich for me so I end up getting one and sharing it with DH.

So glad you chimed in and hope to see your photos of CSR! Thanks again!

Anyone been in mid May before? We'll be there May 14-19. Wondering about crowd levels and heat. Looks like there's a nurse practioners convention while we're there? Wondering how that will effect. TIA!

I took the girls in mid-May a couple of years ago. It was in the upper 80's/low 90's. Crowds were not bad at all, except for the usual rides (TSM, Soarin'). It poured rain Saturday and Sunday, but we kept going and enjoyed EMHs until midnight. :goodvibes

I wouldn't expect any impact from the nursing convention.

There are a couple of things going on that week, but I'm not sure how large they are - they might just have overlapping room blocks. There is an education symposium from July 21-25, with some additional training available the 26th through the 28th. There is a reduced rate if booked by July 6, but I don't know if that is the date that rooms get released.

There is a gymnastics meet July 19-22. Early Bird registration is by April 14th, but I'm not sure what the regular registration date is.

There is a Celtic Dance Festival July 27-29th. CSR is one of the group hotels, along with All Star Music, Yacht Club, and some offsite hotels. It looks like participants need to register by June 15. They might have blocked a large numbers of rooms since they don't know who will choose which resort.

It's very likely that standard rooms will become available closer to summer - I'd keep checking the Disney website.

How many are in your group? I just put in those dates for two adults and found king bed availability. Queen rooms aren't coming up.

Edited:

Standard rooms with queen beds come up from July 20-27. The first night is the problem.

Thank you for your exhaustive research! :worship: I just checked the website and you're right. I can book a king for the 19-27 and a regular room for the 20th on. Something tells me it would be safe to assume that we won't have a problem getting that first night worked in somehow.

Just got our ADR's today and changed our CSR 30 percent room discount to free dining discount, which saved us a good $300 at least. So excited to be there for our honeymoon September 2-8. Hoping to add a casitas room request closer to our trip. Would love to thank Katmark, along with the other people that have taken over this thread that have truly made me so excited to be staying at CSR and for our honeymoon. :cloud9:

Paid of the remaining balance for my May trip today. At some point (I guess when the free dining PIN I got was applied) my room was changed from Preferred back to Standard. Called Disney tonight to see if I could get a Preferred Room and it is a no go for my dates. Oh well.

We LOVED our csr stay in june! Loved loved loved! It's a great resort for a disneymoon, imho!

I have to agree so far!! Love that each area has it's own quiet pool, but the hot tub at the dig site! And since we will have our car, the distance between things isn't a big deal for us

Sorry to post this, there are alot of pages to read through :P

How is the pizza @ CSR? yes I know a silly question. But we were thinking of getting pizza the first night we are there, using up 2 of our qs credits. If they do that promo there or not I"m not sure. They did this at AsMo last year, though they told us after we bought it. Wondering if it's a good meal, or if we would have to pay for it out of pocket?

We booked a waterview room and its $196.00 dollars more than a standard. Is it that big of a different?

The difference would pay for 2 adn 1/2 of our MNNSHP.

We don't mind walking at all!
I'm thinking of switching

You guys don't use transporation?

Well I meant this more of around the resort. I think depending on what we are doing that day we may or may not use Disney transportation. I think when we go to Epcot we probably will, might be drinking around the world ;) But I just like the ease of having our own car and being able to come and go as we please, instead of waiting for buses.

Two years ago we stayed at CBR and liked it. I really liked the pool area, and our room was wonderful. Check in was easy although I didn't like having to go to another blding for check in/out. I didn't care for the food court or gift store. The following year (last year) I would have stayed at CBR again (loved the steel drum music!) but my kids surprisingly didn't want to. We stayed at CSR instead and my kids (and I) LOVED it! I actually would have wanted to try POR this coming year just cuz I like to try new resorts but my kids really wanted CSR again so that's where we're staying. I really liked CSR's pepper market and their gift shop--bus service wasn't great but no worse/better than CBR. One thing I love was the pool slide emptied into shallow-ish water so my non-strong swimmer learned to love going down the pool slide (in a life jacket but still)--he loved not going into 4 feet of water like at CBR.

Hi Tallent!! Looks like we will be at CSR at about the same time!!

My DDs both had pizza at Pepper Market and they really liked it. I did not eat it but it looked quite good. Also saw lots of people walking around with carryout pizza boxes from PM so it seems to be pretty popular. Lots of folks took it outside to eat by the water or back to their rooms.

We are here at Coronado right now! :goodvibes We leave tomorrow, so today is our last full day in the parks, Epcot. The resort is beautiful. We are back in Ranchos 6B. It's not the area I requested, but oh well. It really is not a very far walk from here up to the main building. I don't know why so many complain about the distance. I will complain about the Pepper Market though. We have only gone for dinner once, which is not buffet. The setup is HORRIBLE!!! The food was pretty good though. They have a "wait to be seated" sign, so we all get to our table. We have two small kids so we went up to get the kids' food first, then my husband went up to get his, then I went up to get mine. By the time I got my food, the boys were done with theirs. I would have much rather had a tray to go down the line and get food for everyone then find my own seat. I can't believe they didn't have trays to sit stuff down on! I didn't have enough hands for everything so I had to go back up there 3 times just to get the boys' and my own stuff.

Anyway, I will stop with the rant. We've only swam in the pool once since its been in the upper 60's to low 70's all week and windy. The pool is great! My boys really love it, but I especially love the hot tub.

I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow, but ready to get back home. It's been a long trip, but a lot of fun! We started out the trip with a 3.5 day drive from Michigan.

We are also here right now. I agree that the grounds are so lovely and the CM's have been nothing but friendly.

I'm not sure if we will be returning though. We requested a room by the Dig Site and we ended up in Castitas 1 the very last room before Castitas 2. We have quite a hike to the Dig Site and a bus stop. Luckily we did bring our car so we have driven when we had blisters on our feet.

We did eat in the Pepper Market this morning for breakfast, and it was very tasty. We have a couple more days here, and overall we are having a great time.

I too am at CSR right now! (What are we all doing on our computers?!) We arrived today and are only here for one day pre-cruise but I really like it and would definitely stay here again. We didn't make any particular requests and are in Ranchos which is fine with me as we're fairly near the dig site and that's really all we'll be doing while we're here. We enjoyed Pepper Market for lunch and will be going to Maya Grill for dinner. Only hitch so far is that we somehow managed to lose DD8 on the way back from lunch. She ran ahead and must have gotten turned around somehow. She was lost for about 20 minutes. The staff were all very good as we called the front desk to say she was lost and they radioed all the CM's. She was found within about five minutes and one CM drove me to the El Centro to pick her up, where I found her tearful but in possession of a princess balloon and many stickers.

I'm doing the "Final Documents Received" dance! 16 days till my best friend and I are at CSR! :cool1::banana::yay::dance3::dancer:
