They assigned our room at check in. I politely asked the CM what area she would recommend for our wants and needs and she worked her magic including an upgrade. Now, certainly don't count on that happening but we found they were very willing to help out anyway they could.

party:Only 27 more days until we're on our overnight flight to Disney World!!!party:

We got our Mickey Mail the other day and everything is in place. I'm still trying for 'Ohana on 2/11 for dinner at a reasonable time (before 7:30pm) but I have been checking multiple times daily for 3 weeks with no success so I am hot hopeful...but I will keep trying! Other than that, we are very pleased with all of our ADRs and other planned CS restaurants!

I was just recently looking at pictures of the rooms(two queen bed layout) and in all the photos there was a desk instead of a table...are all the rooms like this? We always eat breakfast in the room, so could this desk be used as a table?

All rooms have the desk instead of the table. There is 1 chair and 2 ottomans for sitting. We used it as our table.

If someone who is there can comment on the exterior/roof work being done on the Ranchos section, I would really appreciate it. Heading out there in several days and was sort of interested in that section. But maybe not, if it's going to be loud, or sidewalks closed, etc.

I do suppose the work would mainly be between 8 and 5 anyway, when we'll be in the parks...

Thanks!

My daughter's number 1 breakfast is cereal. We are not wanting to eat the buffet everyday and would like to ship snacks to the resort prior to our arrival. I was thinking about purchasing some milk from Pepper Market once at the resort. Can anyone tell me what kind of prices we would be looking at for necessary items at Pepper Market? I thought about buying the milk in little cartons that don't need refrigeration until opened, and then shipping them, but they can be a little pricey. Right now Kroger has them for $1 per carton and that's a good deal. I know I'm getting very picky, but for us, every nickle and dime we can save will help.

Okay! Opinions! I need to put in my room request!

I know we stayed in Cabanas last time, and it was really close to a bus stop. Fairly short walk to the pool or El Centro - perfect! I can't remember WHICH Cabanas though! Or, should we go with something different anyway?

I don't really like the Southwest themeing, so that doesn't make a difference to me. Being closer to a bus stop is more important than El Centro, since we will have a car and can just drive to El Centro if we really want. We don't really care that much about the theme pool, but being close to one of the quiet pools would be a good compromise (my daughters won't use the slide anyway). I will be doing laundry at least once during the trip.

So, where should I ask to stay?

ETA: We plan on eating at Maya Grill and Pepper Market several times, and will have refillable mugs too - but with our car that shouldn't make a difference. We just want to be close to a bus so we A: don't have to go far for the stop and B: we will have 2 kids, and a stroller - so finding a SEAT on the bus is important to us!

Panchito's, which is the gift shop at CSR, sells quarts of milk for somewhere around the $3-$4 range. Your room will have a small refrigerator and the milk will fit just fine in there. We are planning on getting a quart so we can have our own breakfast cereal, too. It will save us a good amount to eat in the room, and we aren't fans of large breakfasts anyway.

Can you refill your mug at Peppermarket? I know you can at the Rix and the Siesta's bar, but no sure about the Market. Plus, is it still a buffet or did they change it back to ticket option?

There is no refill station at PM and they seat you as you enter the restaurant so I do not think you can fill it there.
I am sure that the CM would fill it for you to go if you ate there. There is another snack type CS right beside of PM where we filled ours each time. Was not crowded at all and easy to do.

PM is still a buffet for breakfast and lunch and it sounds as though that is the long term plans. There is talk of making dinner buffet also. It's a 1 CS credit and during the buffet you can not get individual items to go. We found the breakfast fine and the lunch excellent!

Thanks for the input. Do you know the price for this out of pocket?

Does anyone know what percent of the rooms are connecting? We requested connecting rooms and I want to have an idea of what our chances of receiving them are. We are arriving to MCO at 9:00 am so hopefully checking in early will help.

every section has it's own bus stop, so it depends where in the "section" you are (casitas, cabanas, ranchos) but, I do think casitas is the first stop to be picked up, so you would have a better chance of getting a seat. we thought the casitas was very pretty.. walk THROUGH it at night, (not just along the promenade) there are fountains, reflecting pools, a rotunda. bldgs 1-3 are preferred, but 4 and 5 are not. the quiet pool is between bldgs. 3 and 4. I think request bldg 4, it would be closest to the bus stop and quiet pool. and it is kinda in the middle between the main pool and el centro

I am hoping that someone can help clarify for me. I have searched far and wide and can't seem to come up with a definitive answer. We booked a preferred King room with our reservation. I wanted to stay in the Casitas section. What sections(s) are the preferred rooms in? Are they all in Casitas or are some also in Cabanas?

Found online another convention at CSR in 2013:

Children with Diabetes: Friends for Life Annual Conference 2013 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida (July 8-14, 2013)

HOSA National Leadership Conference 2014 - June 25-28 - Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Orlando Florida

Okay - after looking at the map, and talking it over with my husband, we think we stayed at Cabanas 8A last time. He said that he wants to stay there again because of how close it was to everything we liked (the bus stop, the playground). I'm a little bummed - Casitas looked BEAUTIFUL and I looooooooooooooove fountains. LOVE. But I'll just have to take a walk around that area one night then!
