Another question for all you CSR experts…
Do Cabana 9b and 8A have elevators for the higher floors or is it just stairs? We will have two Double strollers and would hate to have to take them up and down the stairs.

Thanks!

I have stayed in both and I know that 8A has an elevator, but not sure about 9b because we were on the first floor there. My guess is yes. :thumbsup2

All of the buildings at CSR have elevators with the exception of Casitas 2 (long story which I still don't understand).

What's the best section to be in if I want to be near the pool (not so close it's loud at night) but also relatively close to the food court.???

I was thinking cabanas? Am I right?

Cabanas 8A or 8B would probably be your best choices. And NO rooms are that close to the pool that you would hear the noise (I've never heard anyone complain about noise from the main pool).

WHat do you think about Cabana 9b?

I've never stayed there but was in Cabanas 9A. Cabanas 9B is a little closer to the main building and hence just a tad further to the main pool. Personally, I don't think it is a long walk anywhere...but I like to walk.

I have stayed in 9b and love the location - easy walk to everything, but requested it last time (a few weeks ago) and was put in 8A. They reserve 9b for club level convenioneers (if a sponsor requests it), but I think it is hit or miss if you get it upon request. 8a was perfect for pool and bus (no noise and very close) but a bit longer to pepper market, but you can take the bus there if you need to!

In exactly 7 months from today, we'll be checking into CSR! :cool1: I've decided I'm definitely requesting the Ranchos section! I don't know why but it's just in my head that I need to stay there! Can't wait!!!

Here is the list of what you can get as a a "snack credit" at Cafe Rix:

Biscuits
Muffins
Cookies
Banana Bread
Rice Crispy Treats
Small Gelato
Potato Chips
Pop Tarts
Juice
Milk
Bottled Water
Mixed Melon Cup
Bananas
Oranges
Apples
Assorted Candies
Yogurt
Soft Drinks
Powerade
Hot Tea
Regular Coffee
Decaf Coffee

Actually - we were there Feb 27 - Mar 9 and sometime while we were there they changed it. You could get anything behind the bakery window the day before we left - not just the muffins and cookies like the first time I went there. Cinnamon buns, croissants, danishes...yummy too! There were also individual servings of cereal that you could get.

I'm a little nervous that CSR will be booked solid while we are there. There will be 3 differant conventions during our stay. I know that discounts are limited but they are all sold out (30% and gift card)plenty left at other resorts. Tried to book my brothers family at regular rate and only suites left. Anyone stay here when the resort has been full? This will be our third trip since last spring and we were planning on taking more time to relax and enjoy the resort. I'm afraid it will be crowded and we won't enjoy ourselves as much. Anyone ever stay when it's felt "crowded"?

I know some of you will be there before me but I am just so excited this morning to be able to say ONLY 6 WEEKS until we arrive :cool1:

Thanks everyone for all you advice and comments that are keeping me going until then!!

I want to stay at CSR again for our Thanksgiving trip (Nov 19-27) but everyday I try to make a reservation online it says my resort choice is not available. My mother is able to get a reservation there but she just needs one bed while we need two. I am completely shocked that a standard room is not available. Is there some major convention going on???

We are considering trying CBR instead but I would really rather stay at CSR because our last trip was so nice there. :goodvibes

That is a good variety of things for the snack credit. I think we might use that as a little breakfast. We usually eat lunch early so that will tie us over.
Thanks for the info

Has anyone stayed at both the Wilderness Lodge (loved this one last year!!) & the Coronado Springs Resort? If so,
was the Coronado Springs a disppointment? The only reason I ask is because the WL is so compact & everything is right under one roof, but the Coronado Springs seems so beautiful & is about $1100 less than a 9 day/8 night stay at Wilderness Lodge. So anyone that has stayed at both, could you give me your opinion?:santa::santa::santa:

I'm not going to be much help, but here is my take on the WL/CSR.

We've not stayed at the WL although we have visited three times. Personally, the theme doesn't appeal to us of the WL (looks too much like the lodges in Wisconsin)--especially in Florida. And we had some unpleasant experiences with the CM's there (one actually lied to us); I know you can run into a bad CM at any resort, but I do not tolerate being lied to.

You will find the biggest difference is that, like you said, everything at the WL is under one roof, whereas the CSR, you have three different sections and your door opens to the outside and not into an inside corridor. Personally, I prefer walking outside when I'm in Florida to enjoy the weather and the scenery. The pool at the CSR to me is much larger. The rooms at the CSR are on par with a deluxe with the shampoo and conditioner being in separate bottles, queen size beds, a fitness center/spa, a 22 person hot tub, etc.

It really comes down to what you prefer -- indoor/outdoor walking, a slightly longer walk perhaps from your room to the main building (although we've stayed at the CR and my best friend stayed at the AKL and we both had a longer walk from our room to the food and/or pool than the furthest walk at the CSR).

Good luck deciding.
