Thanks All!!!! There is a convention leaving the day we arrive and another is not coming in for a few days so maybe, maybe we'll get our area location request. Here's to hoping:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We have stayed at both and loved both. For that much of a price difference I would go with CSR.

I thought CSR had a much better pool. Bigger, great slide and plenty of seats. The grounds were beautiful and we did not think the walks were long at all. Themes are very different but we liked both. Rooms themselves were fairly equal but we did miss having a balcony. The lack of a table with 2 chairs was kind of a pain, but not a huge deal. We are not fans of the Pepper Market and thought the counter service at WL was much better but many here are fans of PM. Kind of a love/hate place. WL has the plus of being close to MK with boats to MK/CR and FW. We loved hearing the sounds of the boats and the music and fireworks from MK. Bus service at both seemed the same to me.

Both are great resorts. I think you need to decide how much the price difference means to you.

Have a great trip!

Well, I think we are going to stay with the Wilderness Lodge & make a visit to Coronado Springs & maybe we will try out that resort in Dec 2011. We already have our vacation scheduled for Wilderness Lodge Dec 9-17, 2010 & my son REALLY loves WL, as well as I during Christmas time !! You are right about the balcony, we always stay on the woods view side & every night we have a GREAT view of the fireworks & can hear the music as well from our balcony (if the wind is blowing that way). Last year was amazing, we had the BEST view !!!

We also love the convenience of the boats from Magic Kingdom after a long day/evening there, that is a HUGE plus !!! We had the same cleaning lady in Dec 2008 & Dec 2009 since we were on the woods view side both times & she was fantastic !!! We bought her a little gift our last night & gave it to her before we left !!! That staff was great & we love the Whispering Canyon Cafe & the Roaring Forks is small with a limited amount of items to choose from, but the WL is not a large resort, only has about 778 rooms, so that is a HUGE plus as well !!!!

We will take a bus ride over to Coronado Springs this year & may give it a try in Dec 2011, thanks to everyone for their replies, you guys are great !!!

I knew when we started staying at the WL that we would have a problem going anywhere else & I was right, it truly is a vacation in itself !!! :santa::santa::santa:

I did not realize they don't have a table & chairs in the room for breakfast, that is a bummer. We always eat breakfast in our room, cereal, protein shake, & juice before we head out in the mornings. Thanks for the info !!! :santa::santa::santa:

They have a desk thats attached to the wall with 1 chair. Just was a pain for us as we had 2 kids wanting to sit and eat breakfast at the same time. Not a deal breaker but good info to have.

Have a wonderful time. Although the WL holds no appeal to us, I understand it is simply stunning at Christmas time. And I know what you mean; you find something and then nothing else seems like it will ever live up to what you've fallen in love with. We love the CSR and have had a hard time leaving it. But we've promised ourselves that we will try the AKL and the BC as split stays with the CSR on upcoming trips (the only two deluxes we've got an interest in other than the CR and Poly which we've already stayed at a number of times).

Have fun...and I'm sure your DS will be thrilled.

Booked at CSR for Aug.26-30. Wondering if CASITAS 5 is within close walking distance to the Dig Site. I know the maps can be deceiving.

We have stayed in Casitas 5 times and for me it is about a seven minute walk at a normal pace (if I stop to take pictures or my DH is walking with me it will take a few minutes more...DH walks SLOW!).

Did you walk to El Centro or take the bus around?

I walk...we don't use the buses at all for the resort or the parks--we rent a car; but we still walk around the resort when we are there...it really isn't that bad of a walk. And there is so much to see -- ducks, little lizards (chamelons--spelling?), rabbits, turtles, alligator in the lake, etc.

Hearing this is a first for me also. Am I reading this correctly that there are no chairs in the room???

Has anyone ever received a Garden Grocer delivery at CSR?

The only time I have used GG was while staying at POP. I scheduled a delivery for the day of my arrival, and POP's Bell Services took it into their storage until I picked it up (just after check in). Does it work the same at CSR?

Thank you!:thumbsup2

There is a desk with one chair. Just not 2 chairs like at most places. There are also 2 ottomans. We did not use them to sit on, but I am sure people do.

OK ALLIGATOR IN THE LAKE???? Dose it sit on land like where people and run into it??? Im getting worried! We are traveling with 4 small kids...:confused3

In the room next door to us when we were there in September, they had the door open and had two kids with the two ottomans pushed together (they move away from the window) and the kids were kneeling on the floor and eating their breakfast off the ottomans...it seemed to work out well.

No, the alligator is in the water...we've never seen him on land. Alligators are natural in Florida and you will find them at several of the resorts in the water. They are harmless; once they grow to a certain size they are aremoved and taken off site to a different area. You need not worry.

Hi DisneyMommy!

I wouldn't be overly concerned about Glen, the alligator. He isn't very large (maybe 2 1/2 feet) and he tends to stay in the water near El Centro. There isn't a beach area there, but a dock of sorts with a fence.

Also, CSR doesn't have a beach area that is suitable for playing near the waters edge.

In fact, I think your kids would have fun looking at Glen! They would be asafe distance away if you watched from outside El Centro :thumbsup2

There are a lot of critters at WDW though. We've seen lizards, frogs, bunnies, snakes, turtles, armadillos, hawks, falcons etc...all at CSR. They won't approach people and wouldn't attack unless they were threatened in some way.

I thought they had removed Glen. :confused3
