I just learned that the Dig Site pool will be closed for rehab from January 11 - January 31. At this time, the hot tub, playground and Siesta's will also be closed. The quiet pools will be open.

Are you serious?!!?!!

We are staying two nights in Jan before our BWV ressie, and the main pool over there will be closed too. I don't wanna switch resorts cause I really liked CSR when we stayed last Feb... ugh.

Oh well, I'll still be at Disney :banana::banana:

and of the room...

We had a room that was two rooms in one. In fact, we had to exit both sides, check our room keys in both doors, look at the emergency exit map, and call down to the front desk just to make sure we had this amazing room! It was in the Casitas on the top floor, but can't remember the #. The right "room" had a murphy bed w/ bath, and the left "room" had a king size bed w/ bath.

Bummer! At least the 11th is our last full day there so we won't miss out our whole trip.

Great review, glad you enjoyed CSR. Casistas is where we stayed last time and where we are hoping to get again when we go in August 10.
As you ate at the Pepper Market, were you on the Dining Plan and did you have to pay a tip?

I ask as I have seen conflicting answers to this question and would like to see what the consensus is.

Yes we had a wonderful time! We were on the dining plan but we got a to go ticket everytime we ate there. The food was excellent. My husband loves Mexican food so he loved the breakfast burritos and nachos.

KatMark I will def post some pics as soon as I get the chance. I am still uploading to fb lol we took a lot of pics throughout the trip.

Great pics--you got one of the junior suites -- and before the rehab. Wait until you see the new rooms! Sorry about the pool...but at least you'll have the quiet pools if it is warm enough.

Have a great trip. And at least you can try the Dig Site before it closes down.

I'm devastated! I just booked it a couple days ago, and I was starting to get excited about staying at CSR. It was going to be our first CSR visit and we were planning to spend a lot of time at the resort. We picked CSR specifically because it looked like it had a great playground.

I certainly believe this news, but do you have a link to an official source?

Totally bummed.

No, I don't have a link. I heard it from someone very familiar with CSR who was recently there.

This really stinks, my kids were really looking forward to the waterslide and playground.

What are my chances of getting in another mod resort with a pool that is open?

What a major disappointment, I was really looking forward to CSR.

This really is a game changer for me.

They should really announce this to people with reservations, as I think that folks like me with kids look at this as a benefit of staying at a particular resort.

Why would they close everything down, why isn't the playground open?

They probably closed the playground, because you have to go around the pool to get to the playground. At least we never saw any other way to the playground.

I guess that I fell for all of this hype of how wonderful Disney Is, and in the end, they are just a company out to make money.

Think about it, you make your plans to go six months to a year in advance, you do your research, you visit sites like this one and many others, and you make a decision that you hope will enhance your family's and especially your children's experience. You whip the excitement up as you get closer to the date, you pour over every detail again and again and again to make sure the decisions that you made are the right ones (of course everyone you talk to has a different opinion on everything, so second guessing goes along with it all).

And then 3 weeks before your trip, they decide to tell you that they are closing down the pool and playground. When you know full well that they have known for that same 6 months to a year that it was on the schedule to be refurbished (because we all know that nothing at Disney is done off the cuff!). But by that time, they know that you have paid the final installment of your payment and that to cancel now would mean they would still get some money (non refundable portion of your deposit) from you and they could then rent the room you were going to rent to someone else (who doesn't know that the pool and playground are going to be shut down). So in the end, they are ahead of the game.

The blush is off the rose for me and I've not even made it to Florida! I will go and have a good time for my kids sake, but I'll be damned If I will come back any time soon!:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::(:(

Ooooh....I love the pictures. I am determined to get there for the holidays one of these years...and sooner rather than later I hope. Thank you for sharing. :)

I just read in a book and in it they were complaining about the low flow shower heads at CSR - do you find that to be true/something to complain about?

A month ago we stayed at CSR and GF. I didn't notice any difference in the flow from the shower heads. The showers were fine.

I have very thick hair...and it's long. I had no problems, and that's usually my first complaint in a room :goodvibes

Also: I meant to multi-quote, but forgot :upsidedow KatMark, if you get down to WDW at Christmastime, try the Yuletide tour!
