I put a room request on our ressie already, do I still need to fax one a few days prior to arrival? I will be 17 wks pregnant so it's a little more important for me to be closer to the lobby area than it was when we made the reservation a few months ago.

TIA.

It never hurts (at least at the CSR) to send in a fax as well. I know a lot of the resorts ignore them (throw them away), but the CSR has made a point of telling us that they look at them and upt them in the file.

We will be arriving for our honeymoon at csr on dec 29th, how far out should I fax a room request in and which in your opion would be the best to request? We would like to be semi close to the main building but don't care about the pool and would kinda like a quiet area. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon visit.

We send our fax three or four days ahead of our arrival. If you dont' care about the pool and want something quiet, I would go with Cabanas 9A or Casitas 4 or 5. We prefer Casitas 4 and 5 by the quiet pool, fitness center/spa. Casitas 4 and 5 are about a five to six minute walk to the main building and Cabanas 9A I would say is about the same. I have never had a "noisy" room at the CSR.

Hi: We're planning our first visit to CSR and I was wondering which building to request to be near the lobby (early flight out), a bus stop, and the food court-I guess if we have to decide food court or lobby-we'd rather be close to the lobby. Are there any buildings that we should avoid? Thanks!!

All of CSR's restaurants (with the exception of Siesta's at the pool) are in the Lobby building. I would suggest Casitas 1 or 2 or Cabanas 9A.

Thanks for your prompt response!! I was afraid CSR was like CBR- lobby on one side of the resort and food court on the other!

Not a problem. Truthfully, the walk from any spot is not more than 10 - 12 minutes max (and that is at a slow pace).

PMom29...obviously there is walking in all resorts...it's just a matter of how much we want to do in addition to all the walking you do in parks. For us, CR Tower or AKL Jambo house will be closer to main areas and less walk than at CSR. It's expensive but I now realize why people pay money for certain locations.
I stayed in Casitas 4 at CSR and was in Jambo House at AKL. I had a pool view room near the elevators. I had a shorter walk to Mara at AKL than I did to El Centro by about 1 minute, but given where the bus stop is located at AKL (bottom of the hill, while the lobby is at the top of the hill), I had a much longer walk to and from the busses at AKL than at CSR. And, as noted, it was all uphill. Not that great when you're tired and cranky from the parks. Once in the lobby, I had to go to the far side, then down a fairly long corridor to the elevator. And the nicest Savannah View rooms at Jambo House are much further down the hallway from the elevators than my room was; standard rooms are closest to the lobby. Of course, that part's all air-conditioned.

This is not to say that AKL was not beautiful or that we didn't have a good time there; we did. And I would certainly stay there again. I just think you're making your choice of resort on a mistaken assumption. You may have a shorter walk, but you may not.

I have a couple of questions. Are the quiet pools any deeper than the Dig Site pool? We enjoyed the Magnolia pool at SOG with its deeper end. We could jump or dive in.

Since Pepper Market is different than other food courts, does it take longer to get breakfast? I am wondering what time we should eat there before getting to a park at opening. We would probably only do this a couple of times.
Thanks.
The quiet pools aren't deep enough for diving. I'm 5'8, and I could stand at both ends.

We don't do rope drop, so I can't answer about breakfast!

Have a great trip!!

Very true. My best friend stayed in a suite with a savannah view at the AKL and he said his walk to the food and pool was a longer walk there than it was from the Convention Center (near El Centro) to the furthest room in the Ranchos at the CSR when he came for his meetings.

We will be at CSR in just 3 days...:woohoo:

First we have to deal with a snow storm in Buffalo on Wednesday morning when we leave:sad2::sad2:

Need some good vibes for a forecast change!!

Sending lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: that the snowstorm holds off until after your flight has left Buffalo.

Sorry if this has been asked but I notice that an old friend of this website, Buzz2001, has posted a picute of the new Pepper Market menu and it states at the bottom that the tip is no longer included on the dining plan.

Could someone confirm this please.

We just came back on Saturday. We ate dinner there on 12/3 and the tip was still included with the dining plan. We left a tip anyways. Our server (Megan) was very attentive and friendly. We stopped in for some drinks and nachos on 12/1 afternoon after arriving to the resort. We payed OOP and the tip was obviously not included. I don't remember seeing anything on the menu.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't know how you link or attach a photo to this forum so can't add the picture of the menu.

Katmark;
- Is this something you can do please? I noticed the menu on Buzz2001's forum and I notice you frequent that as well.

Great thread!
I have a couple questions...

We are a party of 5.. 4 adults and a 4 yr. old. We have booked 2 rooms (hopefully adjacent)... I'm hoping to forward a room request... any suggestions for convenient location close to bus and 'dig site'?

Also, we are planning to go to Boma @ AKL the first night for dinner.... just wondering if there's a bus that will take us directly there, and how long it might take to get there.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would either call CRO now and get your request on your reservation or fax it in. Do you care about being close to the main building (registration, food, lounge)? If not, then go with this: For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

No resort offers direct bus service to another resort. You would either need to take a bus to the Animal Kingdom and then get on a bus to the AKL or take a cab. Personally, I'd take the cab--faster and I don't think it would cost more than $10.

First off, :welcome: to the Disboards!

We've stayed in both Ranchos and Cabanas and both are pretty close to the Dig Site. Bus stops #3 and #4 are right by these respective sections. You couldn't go wrong with either. Cabanas would more central to the Dig Site and El Centro if that matters to you.

We ate at Boma one night on our last trip (by far our favorite buffet:thumbsup2) and we took the bus from CSR to AK and then took a bus from AK to AKL. Both the CSR and AKL bus stops are close to each other at AK. We pretty much got off one bus and onto another. It probably didn't take more than 20-30 minutes to get to AKL. We were heading to MK after dinner so we just hopped on an MK bus from there.

:cool1:11 days:cool1:
I was thinking about requesting a certain location, then I thought...I don't even care what room we're in, I just wanna be in Disney!!! With my no worries dining plan, and shipping little trinkets I buy back to the resort, and seeing parades, and looking at the decorations, and eating at fun restaurants...

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah can't wait!:cheer2:
