The DIG SITE pool has officially reopened (as of last Sunday--January 31). :woohoo::woohoo:

At 37 years old, I'm looking forward to the slide myself:thumbsup2

We arrive on an 11 pm flight. I was planning on just staying at the airport that first night then heading to the poly the next morning. I think I might like to do 3 nights here to add some Latino spice to our trip!

My very active kids do not sleep! They have lots of energy. I am looking at the Katmark's picture of the rooms right on the quiet pool. What building is this? Also, do the first floor rooms open up onto the pool? I would really like to stay somewhere where we can slip out the room to swim. I was planning on requesting 8a ranchero for the dig site, but this might be a better option.

Thoughts? I also have bad arthritic feet, so walking more than I need to (since we do so much in the parks) is a consideration.

My kids will be excited as they both take spanish. I am excited since I haven't been back to Chichinitza in a long time!:yay:

Welcome; it's nice to have you here. I have pictures posted of all three quiet pools. The largest of the three is the quiet pool by the Casitas (are favorite section). There are rooms that overlook all of the pools, but you have to pay for a "waterview" and hope you get the pool and not the lake or a fountain. If you want to take in consideration "not doing a lot of walking", I would suggest Casitas 3--close to the quiet pool, main building and the first bus stop (Bus Stop 2). However, if you get Casitas 3 it is a further walk to the main pool.

Your kids can get lots of practice at CSR as there are a lot of Spanish speaking employees at the CSR -- in the Pepper Market, front desk, etc.

Let us know if you have any questions at any time. And, again, we welcome you.

Hi all!! We got home Sunday from our wonderful trip to WDW and CSR!! We had SO much fun!!! :thumbsup2 Our stay was Jan. 23rd-30th. We stayed at CSR. It was AWESOME!! Before we went I had noted on our reservation that we would like to be in Casitas 3 or 4. I also sent a fax four days before we arrived.

We arrived at about 1:30pm. No one else was in the check in line. I did not do online check in. The cast member was not overly friendly but not rude or anything. She said our room was ready.....in RANCHOS 7B!!! :scared1: I told her that we really preferred to stay somewhere in the Casitas section. Hopefully section 3 or 4. She said those sections were completely full! I was bummed!:rolleyes1 So I asked what about 5?? She checked and low and behold she had a room in 5. Room number 5227 to be exact!! Yipee! :cool1:

We were so excited! We toted all our stuff to our room. Let me tell you, the pics on here are good but this place in person is GORGEOUS!! It was a beautiful walk to our room. Maybe around four or five minutes. We were very close to the quiet pool. We also had a very pretty view of a fountain outside our room. It was just beautiful! :yay: Got to our room. I had had a box delivered on Friday so I called the business center to have them bring it up. They brought it up about fifteen minutes later. For those who are curious I shipped it Fed Ex and CSR did charge me a $10 fee to hold it. We also had a Garden Grocer delievery so I called Bell Services and they brought all of it up in about ten minutes. Decorated our window of course, un-packed a bit and headed to eat at Pepper Market. We were starved as we had had a 6:30 am flight from Kansas City.

We walked in, told them it was TO GO got a little ticket thing and moseyed around to pick out our lunch. Let me tell you the workers at PM were super sweet!! They all were trying to go out of their way to get us what we wanted. Several times other cast members would come up to make sure we had been waited on. It was great! :thumbsup2 Ok. I had some kind of nachos. There was chips, cheese, chicken, sour cream, salsa, guacamole and jalepenos. It was very good. They also had gingerale which made me happy! :lmao: They had a ridiculous amount of desserts! Like tons and they all looked delicious! I had a cheese-cake thingie. It was great. DH got the Beef Fajita Platter. He said it was good. For dessert he had a big ol' blueberry muffin. He said it was great!! DD had Ribs. She really liked them. Especially the BBQ sauce. She said it was super good. She had a danish thing for dessert. She said it was really good. We didn't eat at PM any other times. Oh yeah, we got back late after an ADR at Cali Grill where DD just couldn't find anything on their menu to eat.:lmao: So when we got back to CSR she got a pizza. Pepperoni and sausage I think. She LOVED it!

We never swam because it was kinda chilly. We never worked out because we were too tired from my commando style park touring and we never visited the bars because we don't drink much!! ;)

So, I guess that's all I got. We absolutely LOVED CSR!!:thumbsup2 It is now our #1. Not that we've been that many places, but we really did LOVE it there!! Can't wait to go back already. Any questions?? Ask away!!:goodvibes

A Big thanks goes out to Kathy for whom without her I would have never even considered CSR! You go girl!!:cool1:

Jenica, I am having the week from he** (very depressed as my son's last ever home college wrestling dual is tomorrow and I cry every time I think about his career coming to an end), and then I read your review of CSR. It brought TEARS of joy to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing and I am so utterly delighted thatyou fell in love with CSR as we have. Thank you for sharing. I hope you'll post some pictures if you have any. Thank you again.

Oh Kathy!! How very sweet of you!! :goodvibes I am so glad to have given you a bit of happiness during your sadness this week. I can't imagine what you are going through. My DD is 13 and I know that I will be feeling like you feel in just a few short years! :guilty: It makes me sad to even think about it. You are on my mind and I hope that you can turn your sadness into proudness (I don't think that's a word!:rotfl2:) very soon! You really are a jewel to all of us here!!

Thanks for the nice welcome! This is very helpful.

Does anyone know where the nearest grocery/liquor store is?

I am so sorry you feel sad about your son graduating and finishing up his sport. How lucky he has a mom who cares so much!

They do sell bits and pieces at the resort but they are quite expensive.

My DH got a taxi on the way back from a park and went to the Hess garage to pick up some beer, water, chips etc and this was reasonable (we had no car!).

Kathy sorry you are sad this week:hug: you'll just have to start planning your next trip home!!!
10 sleeps can do the single digit dance tomorrow!!:cool1:

Thinking of you with a warm heart today Kathy!!:hug::hug::hug:

Thank you guys. I'm leaving the office now for the three hour drive to Dubuque. Although not graduating until next year, Mark's last home wrestling dual is tonight. It is going to be strange not going to watch him wrestle; he's been wrestling for over 12 years and he is going to miss it and we are going to miss watching him. He didn't end up getting that National Championship he so much wanted, but he gave it everything he had every single time he stepped on the mat. I know that his beloved Grandpa is smiling down on Mark today as he finishes off a great career in the sport he loves with his heart and his soul. I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks again, everyone.

Ok, planning a mother/daughter trip for Oct 2011 for my mom's 55th birthday....complete surprise i can't wait to spring it on her...it's going to be difficult to keep my mouth shut until then!!!

I need all you dis experts to convince me on why CSR is the right resort for us...everything I have read I have loved but I need more...

possible room views.....food choices....pool and quiet pools....bus service.....anything i need to know please tell me! :woohoo:

Kathy, I have a question..... I read on this thread that Cabanas 9B is for club level conventioneers. Does that mean that conventioneers no longer stay in Casitas? I had requested Cabanas 9B as we really liked that location but wondered if Casitas 3, 4 or 5 would be better. We like quiet and convenience! We haven't stayed here in a few years. Thanks for any replies!

Stayed at CSR Jan 17-24; arrived 12:30 am on 1/17; had requested ground floor first, then cabanas 9B; we were assigned casitas 2445; 4th floor on bldg 2; remembered fm the board that elevator only went to 3rd floor and then still a hassle to get to stairs to 4th floor; am 55+ with bad knee and lots of luggage; no way I said to the CM; he went in the back for a while and came back w/casitas bldg 1, rm 1117; much better. The funny thing was that we had a happy anniversary card fm staff in our packet; the room # on the envelope said 1116, so they must have assigned 1116 and then changed our room. Resort was beautiful; weather was great; highly recommend Cafe Rix; good food and prices. Unfortunately, our bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in at any hotel in our lives; no kidding; and our door did not always lock; it was unlocked when we arrived at 1 am; reported the lock problem, but it was not fixed; sometimes we had to fiddle w/lock & key for 5 minutes before it would lock; mousekeeper said they were having problems. Was worried about crowds over MLK holiday; no worries; were only ones on bus many times; most on bus were 16. Couldn't get dining ressies where we wanted online, but had no problem just walking up. Except for the horrible bed, it was a great trip ... Mickey is always a good host!
