Hi, I think we have decided to stay at CoronadoSprings Resort and was wondering if anyone could tell me their opinion if the Casitas or Cabana section is better? They both look nice. For the people who have stayed there, how was their experience? Thanks.pirate: :earseek: :hyper:

We stayed in the Cabanas 9B and thought it was a great location, close to Pepper Market and the dig sight. The pool is great, as well as the whole resort. We thought the food at the Pepper Market was real good, too. Lots of activites, bikes, surrey bikes, boats, exploring.....We are booked for 8 days June 3 - 11 in the Cabanas again!! You will have a great time!!

IMHO the casitas are more like an apartment complex and kinda lack that southwestern feel. The cabanas and rancheros seem a little more themed. Cabanas are like beach houses and Rancheros are more like desert dwellings. Also if there is a convention scheduled at CSR during your visit, which there usually is, most of the "suits" stay in the casitas. Not that that is a bad thing, except taht those folks tend to be up and about early in the a.m.
CSR is an absolutely beautiful resort and you will have a great time no matter where you select to sleep.
Be sure to take the time to enjoy the pool, pool slides and the hot tub. They have lots of watercraft and bikes to rent too.

Enjoy your vacation and send us a trip report when you get back.

We prefer the cabanas for the location but the casitas have all the beautiful courtyards and fountains. It depends what your looking for

I have stayed in the Cabana section and the Rancho section but not the Casitas. They are pretty but remind me more of a hotel than of an adventure. From the look of the picturesd I like the room decore too. My favorite is the Ranchos but since you didn't ask about them I won't bring them up again. The Cabanas are a hair bland but the rusted metal roofs, shutters and beach make it seem like you are on a tropical beach (unless you are there in a cold spell during the winter). The location is really good bewtween the main pool and El Centro. The room decor is colorful and the rooms were quiet and comfortable.

We stayed at the Cabanas last April and some freinds of ours stayed in the Ranchos, Both were nice. I think the Casitas would be better if you there with a convention.

Some people complain about the walk from cabanas and ranchos, but during the day alot of the cast members gave rides in their cart, to wherever you need to go.

I will be staying in the cabanas this May from the 20 thru 27. a friend of mine that went to disney last september...i was telling her that we were going to go back to the resort after around 4 or 5 hrs in the park take a couple hrs break and head back to park and she said it not worth it because it took to long.

i cant beleive that the bus transportation for that time frame is May is that bad..

what you yall think???
thanks

which area of the resort to choose depends on you and your family. we stayed in Cabanas #8A and loved it....It is the absolute closest building to the main dig site pool, next door to the laundry facilities, 30 seconds to the parking lot and bus stop and only a 2-3 minute walk to the El Centro....We have stayed at almost every disney resort and found the bus transportation to and from CSR to be among the best of any....it is definately worth it to leave the parks midday and go back for a swim, it didn't take that long...

Cabanas 9B or 8B. I can't remember which one we stayed at but we got the building which is in the middle of the Cabana section which gave us short walk to the main lobby and the dig site. I will definitely choose Cabanas again.

For me definitely CASITAS.....Loved it!
:hyper:
We stayed in Cabanas once and Casitas once. I felt the Cabanas was too much like CBR. Did not get the southwestern feel from there.
But the Casitas felt more like we were downtown in a city in the southwest. The court yards and fountains are BEAUTIFUL.

We were there the week after Easter last year. There was also a convention. And we did not feel the buses were slow at all.
Just about every day we would go back for a quick swim and then on to another park and never once had a problem with waiting for the bus.

We were pretty far from the Dig Site, but that didn't matter. We don't do the main pools that much.
We prefer to relax at the quiet pools.
Another plus with it being a convention......less kids running around....more peaceful.::yes::

I like Casitas better as well. To me it felt like being in a Mediterranean town. Very pretty. I don't like the desert so Ranchos didn't appeal to me and it was very far away from everything. Cabanas was okay but nothing special.

brooke1, We stayed CSR last Easter week, and the bus service was exellent, no matter when what time of day.

DH and i stayed in the Casitas building 1 last September. We loved the theming particularly the courtyards and fountains. We had a bit of a walk to the gig site etc but were very close to El Centro. Only ever had a 5 - 10 min wait for the buses too. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. Enjoy.
