anyone have some pictures of the Coronado Springs resorts. Also, any tips or comments about the resort are welcome. We are thinking about going in Early May 02. Anyone ever been during that time?

Thanks,
Richie

CS is our favorite moderate resort, having stayed there 3 times since it opened. Although it is large, the way the buildings are spread out around the lagoon makes it feel as if you are stying in a much smaller resort. It is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the mornings.

CS has one of the best pools on property, too. This is such a relaxing resort that I plan extra time in our itinerary to just hang at the pool, in a hammock, ride bikes, etc just to enjoy the resort itself.

We like the food court at CS, partially because it is set up differently than those at other moderates. You are taken to a table and the menu is explained. While you are visiting the food stations and making your selections, the servers get your beverages for you. The food is made to order, so it is fresh and you can make special requests easily. The chefs are also good at describing the different menu items they serve. We thought the portions were huge, so be careful not to order too much food! While it seemed a little expensive, the quality and portion size made it a good value.

As you may have heard, an additional 10% gratuity is added to your bill. The servers also bus your table for you and will check on you from time to time, bringing condiments, etc. For an extra $1 or 2, we felt it was nice to have the extra service. Plus, you didn't have to make your way through a crowd to find a table, while carrying a tray with full drinks. We always left an extra couple of dollars for the servers too, if service was reasonable.

Be sure to get your refillable mugs. The servers will fill them for you if you are eating at the food court. If all you want are refills, they will wave you through the line of people waiting to be seated, and the cashiers will wave you past any line of people waiting to pay. We just showed them our mugs and they waved us through. You can also fill mugs at the snack bar at the pool.

One thing we like to do after checking in is to take a little stroll around the grounds of the resort. We take time to check out locations of different things, browse the gift show, get our mugs, etc. Be sure to do this at the CS....it is gorgeous! The theming at each section is so different that it is worth taking the time to go for a walk around the property.

One last tip......take a dip in the hot tub each night before bed. It will massage your tired legs, feet, and back, and you will wake up feeling great in the morning. I do this on every trip, and it makes a huge difference in the amount of walking you can do without getting so tired!

Thanks for all the Info! Sounds like a wonderful resort. We should be making a decision in a couple of days. I've stayed at the Poly and the All Star and I'm hoping it's somewhere in between. I have 4 kids so I'm hoping the room is a little bigger than the All Star. The rooms at Poly were really nice size. Do you know if they offer two queens sized beds?

The food courts sounds good. I like having a nice place to eat at the resort. I don't go to Disney for food so I rather just get something quick and easy. I live in Louisiana and most of my years in New Orleans so I have good food right here!

Thanks again. I have tons of questions, but I'll be patient.

ps - I will be there in early May too.

I like your tip at the end Joanne. Will be there with my family and my DW's brother and his family. I am going to try the hot tub routine at night. Usually too tired but will make it a priority this time around.

Thanks
