Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach in December?

We just had to cancel our 8 day August trip, but we still have a December trip for 3 nights at a Coronado Springs standard view room booked. We're actually thinking of making this a nice 7 day trip and adding on a few more days and upgrading our room to a water view. But I'm also toying with the idea of changing to a Caribbean Beach preferred room so we can use the skyliner.
I'm looking for opinions on what other people would do.

Here's some more details:
Family of 4, Me, DW, DD (13), DS (9). November 30th- December 6th. We are not renting a car so we'll be relying on Disney transportation. Pools are important. My kids were fish in their former lives and they'll go swimming in any weather higher than 40 degrees. We're doing the following parks, MK 3 times, HS 2 times, AK and Epcot once.
Being near Christmas and the likely possibility of no MVMCP or the Candlelight at Epcot, resort decorations and a Christmas feel is very important. I would prefer to be in a moderate, only because we're DVC members paying cash for this trip. Thanks everyone!

Coronado is gorgeous around the Holidays! It's centrally located to all the parks. EPCOT and HS are very close by. Coronado is my favorite resort and I have never been disappointed by the service, dining selections, or pool. THE POOL IS GREAT!!

Both have excellent pools. CBR does have the skyliner. But I feel as those CSR would just feel more like Christmas than CBR. I too would go with CSR.

I have a trip the 1st week of Dec and was booked at POFQ....I changed it to CBR as I have stayed there before and really liked it and the skyliner is a big consideration. I have never seen either of these resorts decorated for the holidays but I feel like I'll get plenty of decorations in the parks. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever one you decide on.

Coronado 10,000 times over the Caribbean!

I'd say just go to POR but.. *choked up*...its closed...for a long time I am guessing.

Thanks everyone, I went with Coronado! I'm also toying with the idea to split our stay and do the last 3 nights in Art of Animation in a family suite. That way we get the Skyliner, a better food court, and our own room. Only thing probably holding me back is the Big Blue Pool may be under refurbishment.

IMO, a split stay for three nights only would not be worth it. If your main reason for staying at AOA would be to use the Skyliner, that means your 2 days at DHS and 1 day at Epcot would best be left until that portion of your trip, which means you'd do three straight days of MK. Personal preference, but we like to break it up a bit more.

As much as I love the Skyliner, I think choosing CSR over CBR is the right call in your case. CSR's pool is superior to CBR's IMO, and the Christmas decor at CSR was gorgeous when we stayed during the holidays once. I imagine its even better now with the addition of Gran Destino Tower. You mention AOA has a better food court than CSR, but I'd respectfully disagree. El Mercado is fairly recently refurbished, has almost as many offerings, is far less busy, and Cafe Rix is another nice alternative as well.
