I am trying to select a resort for our next trip and from the pictures I have seen, Coronado Springs looks beautiful. How come I rarely hear it mentioned on these boards?? Doesnt anyone stay there?
For anyone who has stayed there..... We have 2 DD's who will be 4 and 5 on the next trip. Would they be the only small kids there??? They have always enjoyed playing with other kids when they use the kiddie pool at ASMo. I would hate for them to miss out on some fun by being the only kids using the pool.

I had the same question, but we have decided to stay at Coronado this time, instead of Beach Club (will save us $1400). We have a 5 year old daughter who will be 6 when we go. From what I hear, she will love it. From the research I have done, many consider CSR the best moderate of them all.

We've stayed At Coronado Springs twice and love it. Your kids will have plenty of other kids to play with. This is a beautiful resort, beautiful landscaping, walkways, something to see everywhere you go. We've stayed in the cabanas (closest to the main buildings) and the ranchos (furthest from the main buildings) and loved them both. We are walkers so a good 5 - 8 minute walk from the further rooms out is not an issue, I can just eat more Mickey Bars!!! The pool is wonderful with a long slide and a kiddie pool. The Pepper Market is the "food court" restaurant, but is so much better, I think , than other food courts. You'll have a wonderful time!!! :cool1:

I am booking next week, but don't know if I should request the cabanas, or the ranchos, did you like either of them better than the other? The cabanas are closer to everything, but the ranchos look like they have nicer theming. I am sure will will be happy with either, but which did you prefer?

Thanks.

We've stayed at CS many times. We enjoy the pool and the food court. The kiddie pool is VERY small. The theme pool is huge! The hot tub is huge! The playground is nice. The quiet pools are great. The only drawback to staying here is the lack of shade. Bring suntan lotion!

I would probably choose the ranchos again if I had a choice. I really enjoyed the little walk and the dessert feel in that section is really pretty!!! The rooms are the same in all the different areas, except for a few color differences. We would be at CSR again this may/June, but my DH loves to try different resorts, and if that means keeping him going to Disney year after year, that's OK with me.... :cheer2:

I love CSR. I consider it more of a Deluxe Lite than a Moderate. It's actually pretty comparable to WL, amenity-wise. We saw lots of families & kids there on our stay. We will definately stay there again. We were in Cabanas (by pure luck) and the location of them was fantastic. Very central to everything. However, I also love the themeing of Rancheros & think I would request that section next time we stay there.

The Dig Site is awesome for kids.

I actually really recommend this resort to solo travellers! I have stayed there while on business, or alone, as I feel very comfortable in the convention environment.

Having said that, it's still a good choice for families. I noticed that the busses and leisure areas were often very empty while the conventioneers were off working all day.

And I believe that they have the best hotel gift shop - I usually make a trip there if I am staying elsewhere since they have a great selection and stock.

I was there in December for a haircut and to use the business center, and while walking through the resort felt that it may be time to stay there again next....

Thank you everyone for all your input. I really appreciate it. :flower1:

Buzz2001, I saw your link on another thread and your site is what sparked my interest. The pictures are great!!

LOVE :cloud9: Coronado!!!! It is my favorite moderate resort. Been there twice. If it weren't for the fact that I have this quirk where I need to try out every resort I would probably always be staying there.

Loads of fun! Enjoy!

My family enjoyed CSR. My kids 8 and 5 had so much fun at the Dig Site playground and they loved the pool too. They were some young kids there and they seamed like they were enjoying themselves. You will have a wonderful time there. You will not regret it. Enjoy!

Absolutely my favorite resort. The most complaints you'll see on here are about people whining about the long walk to El Centro. I love the place.

:jumping4:

This is our favorite resort too. We've stayed there twice, both times in the Ranchos. We are planning our June vacation right now and we will be going there again! We can't wait!! As for the long walk from the Ranchos: we don't know about that, we've NEVER walked it. We always ride a bus around to El Centro for breakfast every morning (the food is great!) and we usually leave right from there to go to the parks. Our kids are a little older than yours but they love it too.

We absolutely LOVED this resort!! I think your kids will have a blast at the pool! Its really nice. Have a great trip!

Great resort!! You and your family will love it! The pool is awesome. You can rent a 4 person bike to drive around the resort. Rooms are standard hotel style, but clean and with a disney spin.

Have a great time!

We stayed there over the Christmas break and loved it! The room was quiet and clean, and the resort never felt crowded. Our DD7 and DS14 loved the waterslide, too!

Thanks to all on these boards for tips/recommendations! We wound up in Cabanas 8A, waterview, and were just steps away from the Digsite! :cool1:

Forgot, you'll also get some complaints about it being a convention resort. I think we've stayed there 3 or 4 times now, and with the exception of people bringing it up on the board, I never remembered it was one while staying there. It has never been an issue for us while we were there.

Hi there,

A great resort, themeing and overall appeal second to none in the moderates.
The Pepper Market gives an excellent choice of food.
