Coronado Springs - Experiences?

I hate to say anything negative about any Disney resort, but I just got back from 2 nights at CSR and absolutely hated it. Dining at the Pepper Market is a nightmare, especially at dinner. I heard similar complaints about Maya Grill also.

The whole resort is so spread out and large, I think unatractive. I do admit, they are doing a lot of external remodling/repairs, but to me it was a joke. Now, I only paid $79 a night, so I guess I can't complain too much. I am a die hard POFQ, and I think the 2 don't even compare. I'd rather stay at POP than CSR.

We've stayed everywhere from CR to GF to *** to POR. Our favorite moderate is CSR. Main building is a short 5 minute walk from the main pool area. But, the walk is beautiful. The main pool is very nice. If you have kids, I would suggest requesting Cabanas building 8B first floor. That is the closest building to the main pool and God knows you always have to go back to the room to get something. As far as Pepper Market, our family enjoys visiting as many resorts as time and money will allow. Pepper Market has the best food court hands down. There are problems at every hotel including CSR, but we've never had any problems, only great fun.

I agree. We stayed there the year it first opened. I did not care for the theme at all. Also, we were so far away from everything and it was so hot (August) we ended up driving everywhere. I know alot of people like the Pepper Market but I also thought it was a nightmare.

We were just there last Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We thought the hotel was beautiful. The front desk people were very nice. We hated Pepper market. The food was good, the service sucked. We had 3 waters and an apple juice. After the drinks were brought we never saw her again. More water would have been nice. The place was dead. I don't mind the tip being added on, but I would like my glass refilled. We tried to eat at Maya Grill but after standing at the hostess stand for ten minutes with no one talking to us we left.

We loved the view at night. We could see both Illuminations and Wishes from outside our door.

I went and got my own drinks. I can't sit there with my food getting cold waiting for someone to come by. I'm too impatient. :)

We loved Coronado Springs! It was very peaceful and the pool was great. My oldest doesn't usually like swimming but we couldn't get him out of there. Someone recommended that we stay in Cabanas 9B and it was great. It is located between the main pool area and the lobby/food court area. Here is a link to a map of Coronado if you haven't found one yet:

We ate in Pepper Market 1 or 2 times and while we won't go out of our way to go there again, it wasn't bad. There was a large selection of foods to go and get from several areas and then your waiter brought drinks. No big deal.
I think we would stay again without hesitation, but we want to try a new resort every time we go! That could take a while!

we stayed there in aug. '03. we really liked the theme and the layout of the grounds. the food court was good (we pretty much just ate breakfast though). the main pool was great. i really enjoyed the frozen margarittas (sp)there (lots of different flavors). the only draw back in my opinion is that the place is really, really big. i think i read some place that it is wdw's largest resort, area wise. other than that we had a great time there.

I think CBR is the largest. Since your last trip to CSR, they added an internal resort shuttle service available to all guests. No more walking to the ranchos if you don't want to. Just wait at the established shuttle stops or wave down the specific golf carts for a ride. The carts have a sign on the front that read TRANSPORTATION for RESORT GUESTS and have a yellow light on the top of the cart. I will post pictures of the shuttle stop signs and the new cart signs when I return.

CSR is the only moderate we have tried. I don't feel compelled to sample another. :earsboy:
