Coronado Fans-PLEASE POST WITH REVIEWS & RECENT PHOTOS!

This is gorgeous! Can't wait to stay there in August!!! :yay:

Thank you! :)

I thought it was an enjoyable resort, if you don't mind the walking like others have stated. The biggest surprise for me was that we could distinctly hear Fantasmic while it was going on! That was during our first night before we had visited any parks yet, so it was quite the "welcome." We could also see some of Illuminations, but never were able to hear it.

I am loving this thread right now. Everyone's pictures are sooo beautiful! I thought I couldn't wait for vacay before, but now I REALLY can't wait... You guys - I'm too excited to sleep! :lmao:

It is a great resort to photograph -- day and night. Enjoy your stays at the CSR -- it's our favorite.

Love this thread!! Great pics. Makes me excited for my upcoming trip staying at CSR.:thumbsup2

We are staying at CSR the first week of June.

Can anyone tell me places at the resort where we can view the fireworks from Illuminations?

Thanks!

I only distinctly remember seeing the finale, but that's not to say other parts aren't visible (I just don't remember). If you're exiting the food court building, walk down the sidewalk to your left. Around the first few room buildings, you should be able to see them from there. :thumbsup2 But keep in mind the music does not play at CSR like it does for the MK resorts during Wishes.

We have seen the fireworks from the upper floors of Casitas 4 and 5.

Ooowow, your trip is nearly here!! Have fun and hopefully you can post your CSR pics later---so many ammenities sold me on Coronado Springs vs any other Dis resort, and, every time I see a CSR pic posted, it looks pretty as a postcard I'm reminded of its beauty---okay gonna go buy a lottery ticket b/c that's the ONLY way I might get to go this year. :hippie:

our first trip to coronado springs will be in september. these questions have most defenetely been asked in previous posts but i wonder if some of you wouldnt mind answering again. i have a couple of questions about peppermarket and the refillable mugs. are bottled drinks available when you get your meals? also what locations can we refill the refillable mugs? if i am on a dining plan do i have to pay the 10 percent in pepper market?

Hi all,

We just got back from a trip on Monday. We stayed off property for a week, and then at CS for 4 days. Here is my report - the good, the bad, everything.

The first room we checked into stunk so badly, my daughter almost gagged. We had her step outside and then we called to change rooms, which took another 6 hours to get into.

The room we got into did not have a microwave, which was specifically told to us when I booked it that that would be available. Now, maybe in all fairness I heard wrong, but because of certain things we have to deal with, we really need a microwave. The woman finally was very nice and did give us a $25 comp on our room. That was nice.

We couldnt call the front desk because our phone wasnt working. We called every day to have them come fix it, and they finally fixed it on the last day. Thats a problem because my husband needed the internet (attached to the phone obviously) becuase he is a web designer. Very frustrating.

I drink coffee. But I only got it one day becuase the maid service did not give me any more packets on the other days. Sigh.

We had to call and ask for more soap, shampoo also because that was not given as well. Sigh.

We had to call using our cell phone......OUTSIDE THE ROOM. See, not only did our phone not work, our cell phones didnt work inside the rooms because of reception. Exhausting.

The grounds are nice, and the hammock is nice. But for the total exhaustion of what we went through I have to say that there are other pretty views around Disney on and off different properties, and that we will never stay at Coronado again most likely. We really didnt have a good time there, and it just seemed like for the amount we paid for those rooms there were frustrations we expected to find at a Motel 8, not a Disney property. We also weren't really given a lot to "make up" for the problems.

So - there you have it. I'm usually the most laid back person, and frankly, I usually think reviews like this should be taken with a grain of salt, as the person is probably grumpy or grouchy or just somehow unable to be pleased, but in my case, that really wasnt what happened. We really did give them a lot of chances, and were disappointed a lot. Again, its a beautiful property, but Orlando is filled with beautiful properties :) and ones where I can actually get a cup of coffee and have a phone. :)

I'm sorry your stay at the CSR was so disappointing.

A few things: microwaves are NOT guaranteed; they are available on a first come, first serve basis by asking at the desk when you check in.

Do you know what the smell was in your first room? Was it cleaning solutions?

Calling the front desk gets you know where...as they do NOT answer phones there (the calls go to a central location). When having an issue with coffee, shampoo, etc., it is best to either call Mousekeeping directly or to stop at the front desk. Also, the same with the phone.

I don't understand the cell phone issue as I've never had an issue in nine stays at the CSR with using my phone inside my room.

Again, I'm sorry your stay was such a disappointment for you.

No one ever told me microwaves weren't guaranteed. Thats the part I have a problem with. Its just hard when you ask the right questions, but get wrong answers.

The smell smelled like rotting body odor. It was definitely not a cleaning solution! :)

I couldnt call anyone. The phone didnt work. My only option was to call the main number using my cell phone ... OUTSIDE. We were in 8A cabanas on the main floor - room 8150 if that helps, and no we couldn't use our cell phones inside. Frustrating.

It was a disappointment, especially for the money we paid.....next time we'll go back to Wilderness Lodge! :)

Just got back from a 10 night stay at CSR. We were in the Casitas 1 building, preferred. Our room was great. Always very clean. We loved the resort. Our building was close to the food court, store. The main pool/dig site was across the lake and was about a 5-10 min walk, but it was a great walk with great sites. There were games at the pool area every afternoon for kids and adults. It's a very beautiful resort. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus.

I will say, we did not have cell phone reception in our room either, which was a bit of a pain. I also took advantage of a massage at the spa and it was very nice. I would definately stay here again.

I do not think microwaves are standard at any resort except the villas. Did you ask when you checked in? Or when you made your reservation? I ask so that I can "include it on the "unofficial" thread that I run for the CSR so no one else experiences this.

Your issues with the soap, coffee, etc., is why I always walk to the front desk...it proves to be much more efficient, no matter which resort we stay at.

Again, I'm sorry you didn't care for it and that you know that you enjoy the WL and stay there on your next trip.

Have a great day.

They were standard at Wilderness Lodge, and yes we asked (twice) when we booked the reservation. :) And as far as the soap, etc. I just didnt want to walk 10 minutes in the night for soap - thats sort of what I was grumpy about because I'm like, wow, I'm paying a lot for no soap or coffee. We went ahead and left a tip, but I still feel like we probably shouldnt have.

We did love the grounds and the hammock, but that was about it. Oh, and the pool had some problem with it too, and so the time we were there everyone was not allowed in it. Sigh. One thing after another! :)

That is not the CSR's fault if you requested it at time of booking the reservation. Unfortunately, I've dealt with reservatioin people who did not know things that us on the DIS have known for six months.

I wouldn't have left a tip if they weren't supplying you with the things you wanted.

Again, I'm glad you gave it a try and it didn't live up to your expectations. But that is what is so great about Disney...there is a resort for everyone.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay at the CSR and that all worked out for you (except the cell phone).

I love having a massage at the CSR midway between my trip. :worship:

We will be staying at CSR in late October. I stayed here one time several years ago (1999 I think). We stayed in the Ranchos section and I remember walking past the Cabanas buildings every day on the way back and forth to the main building. I wish I could find my pictures from that trip. It looks like there is a bridge that crosses over the lake and that you wouldn't have to walk over bhy the Cabanas. Was that always there and we just managed to not see it? Just curious.

I'm excited about going back. It is a beautiful resort - my oldest dd said she doesn't remember it (I don't know how she wouldn't since she was in high school) and my younger children have never stayed there.
