How bad is the construction. Will the main pool be closed. Lookin at the 1st week of September 2018

Not sure about the construction but that part likely would not bother me.
In general though I vote down Coronado. Stayed once and had multiple issues. Some of which would be avoided now that MDE is used but still I'd rather not stay again.

I personally really like CSR. There is a lot of construction going on and the main pool is scheduled for a closure (I don't remember the exact dates, but they can be found on the official Coronado Springs thread). The tower construction has cranes around it and there is a crane in the lake for building the new restaurant. The food court is undergoing some refurbishments, as well, but as far as I know, it will remain open. The newly refurbished rooms are my favorite of all the rooms I've stayed in at Disney. There's so much storage, and a subtle but well done Three Caballero theme. We're staying somewhere else next time just for the sake of trying something we've never tried before. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to CSR though. We were there last in April and had a great time. It's really up to you on how much seeing construction will bother you.

So I haven't been before but I always wanted to go. I actually loved the look of the old rooms (the blue runners with the dark slightly masculine looking headboard and doors)> I'm slightly less drawn to the refurbished rooms but I am very interested in checking everything out when it's all complete. But I can't imagine going before construction is over. From what I've seen the beautiful lake view has some obstructions and that's a big highlight for me so I'd rather just wait until it's done.

Haven't looked at dates of potential main pool closure, but we stayed at CSR in March, and the tower construction did not bother us at all - the only time we saw it was on the bus. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again during construction unless the main pool was closed & we planned to spend a good bit of time there

We just recently stayed - couple weeks ago. Had just as nice of a time as the first trip. We did like the Casitas section better than Cabanas but that was just our taste of the outside bldg. décor. Barely noticed the construction other than visually when coming in and out of the resort otherwise we never heard any noise from that direction day or night.

We have been there 3 times and enjoyed it all three times. Our last time was the week before Christmas last year, construction was going on but it wasn't even a blip on our radar. We didn't get a refurb room but were in the Casitas section so we were really close to the main building and a bus stop was right there.

I think that the pool is closing in September? Not sure exactly when. Sorry!

Re staying CSR or not: We never book anywhere under construction, just to be safe. We have had a couple of bad experiences with construction in WDW in the past, so we always book elsewhere until it is completed.

AFAIK, the construction hasn't been a problem for most people staying at CSR as it is fairly localized. However, it is a personal thing how much it bothers anyone. For me, aside from potential noise issues, I pay to stay in WDW partly for the ambiance and that is just not the same when there is construction going on.

Normally, we just LOVE CSR! Hope that you have a great trip wherever you choose to stay!

Was there in March and had a fantastic time. Construction didn't bother us, our vacations are what we make them out to be.

I am following this discussion, also considering CSR for the beginning of October. However, as another poster commented, one reason I love staying at a Disney resort is for the ambiance, and that would certainly be ruined by construction.

I stayed in January and it was great. Honestly the construction had pretty much zero impact for me. It was still beautiful and relaxing. That said, the pool wasn't under refurb at that time, so I'm not sure how that would change things for you - I only used the quiet pool near my building so it wouldn't be a concern for me. I was in Ranchos Building 7a (in a nice renovated room), which wasn't anywhere near the construction. About ten to fifteen minute stroll to the main building or a two minute walk to the bus which can take you to the main building. I walked by the build site several times and wasn't bothered by it at all. Oh, and I got the adorable 'pardon our pixie dust' pins lol.

We were in Ranchos 6B in December and the tower construction was only noticeable while on the buses. It didn't bother us at all. From that building I don't think you'd see the construction in the lake now, either (it hadn't started yet when we were there). I wouldn't want to be right next to it in 9A, though.
