1st time going to this resort is pool good for kids? looks nice. any suggestions on what room pool view? How was your stay???

Karen- I'm not the op ,but, have a question as well.I see that you have stayed at AKL..Did you enjoy their pool more than AKL's??...I'm currently deciding between the two.I thought I give CSR a chance,I have stayed at AKL before.....Thanks:)

I just got back on Sat. from 7 nites at CSR. My DD 6yo loved the pools (so did we). We stayed in Cabanas 9A. We had a quiet pool at our building. We enjoyed this pool the best because it was never crowded. There were times that we were the only ones in it. The big pool was a very short walk- the only time we went to it was when my DD wanted to play on the slide. It was always so crowded in the afternoons. The Cabanas 9A was a good location. We also had a very short walk to the Pepper Market/El Centro. All cast members were extremely nice and helpful. Our maid was too. My DH said on the way home that he wanted to stay there next time we went. The room was plenty big enough for the 3 of us (and it would be fine for 4 also). Had no problems anywhere at the resort. Just a great trip staying there.

disneyjulie,

I have stayed at Coronado Springs twice. Both times in a building near the food court. We weren't near the pool but didn't think the walk was bad. We love the resort. The transportation was always very good. Their food court was reasonably priced and the food good with a lot of selection.

The pool is awesome! The theming is very neat. I took my 10 year old niece my second stay there and couldn't get her out of the pool. They have a fun water slide that I even enjoyed! :D

bridgettesmom-we haven't stayed at AKL yet (not till 1/04). Sorry i can't compare them, but I will say that for the money CSR is now my fav resort. HTH!

cabana 8a is as close as you can get but no room has a great view of the pool because of the trees and growth.

We're staying at the CSR for just one day/night at the end of our cheap sleeps CBM week. :teeth: I'm certain that the girls will want to swim, swim and swim some more! I've heard that the food court can be a little confusing. Since it looks like we'll be eating lunch, dinner and (maybe) breakfast before we go, are there any little tricks to know? TIA

Debbie-
I think you girls will love the pool, DS (6) really enjoyed it more than the water park-lol!

The Pepper Market is not really confusing once you see it. You enter thru an area near the Maya Grill entrance. Someone seats you, give you a laminated menu & some paper cards (like the size of a business envelope). On the back of the menu it shows you where, in the market, the different food stands are located. The menu breaks down the food offerings by stand and shows what is included & the price. Each day we were there a couple of "special" dishes were listed on a board near the entrance & showed which stand to visit if you wanted that food.

When you see something you want, just visit that food stand, give them your paper & they will stamp it and you give you your food. Your table server will get your drinks, condiments -if you need them or anything else you might need/want. We always forgot to ask for an extra plate since DS shared our food many times & the server was right there with whatever we needed.

When you are done you head for the opposite end of the Market from where you entered & give the cashier your papers, they total things up & you are all set. We also used some Disney Reward Dream Dollars at the Market with no problem.

HTH!

I have stayed at AKL and CSR. I really liked the pool better at CSR. No zero-entry, though. but the slide and theming are unbeatable! For the price, CSR is my favorite resort!!

Thanks for the information, Karen. We--I--am looking forward to that day as a rest before the mad dash home. The girls don't know that we will be onsite for that last night yet. ;)

We just stayed there for two nights in June. One night in the Casitas (garden view) and one night in Cabanas (9A) lagoon view. My son loved being right next to the sand (Cabanas) where he dug a deep hole (I made him fill it in so no one would fall in). I like the Casitas pool better than the Cabanas pool. Maya Grill has a wonderful buffet breakfast. Their dinner menu was a bit strange, though - think Italian/Mexican cuisine.

The Dig Site is lots of fun. We spent all day there one day.

I've stayed at both AKL and CSR. I much prefer CSR to AKL. The pool at Coronado Springs is much nicer. The pool at AKL was constantly packed. The grounds at CSR are beautiful and the lake makes for a tranquil setting.

We really liked the pool at CSR. The slide is so much fun!

Awesome pictures, Laura, thank you. I can hardly wait to try out that slide! Thanks for the comments Deb! It makes me even more ready for that day at the hotel. I see that you are headed back to the world. Have a fabulous time!
