on our cruise we want to got o coral world to do the sea trekken(helmet diving). There will 5 going (4 adults and 1 7 year old). We will have to do the sea trekken 2 at a time. If we went with disney's excursion would we have enough time or sould we try to do this on our own??

Thanks for any help
Kelly

I don't think you'll have time on the Disney excursion. Honestly having taken the Disney excursion I think you could do it more easily yourself. There are plenty of cabs right as you get off the ship that could take you over there. You would then get there before the Disney excursion (since they go up to Mountaintop first) and give you plenty of time to do Sea Trekkin, and see Coral World itself (if you went on the excursion even if you had time to do Sea Trekkin you would not have time to see the rest). Coki beach is right next store and you could spend time there as well before heading back to the ship.

The Sea Trekkin looks cool and if we go back on the Eastern we'll do that with getting over the Coral World on our own.

Hope this helps. Maybe someone who has done both (the Disney excursion and Sea Trekkin) will chime in.l

Kelly,
With a party of 5, I think you would be better off renting a car. Budget and Avis are located within walking distance. You'll save time and money and have much more flexibility with your time on St Thomas.

After your visit to Coral World, you can drive down to Maegan's Bay for some beach time. It is a beautiful beach!

Have a great Cruise!

Sea trekin is where you put on a full diving helment that has air pumped into it from the surface. You then walk on the bottom of the ocean on a path with handrails and such to help you move around. The tour takes about twenty minutes I think and you have a tour guide to show you around, you can see the trekkers from the undersea observation area.

We did Coral World on our own & it was very easy. We took the taxi--because it was just 2 of us going. I would not have wanted to drive in St Thomas--they drive on the opposite side of the road, and the roads are quite twisty. You may want to haggle the taxi fare since there will be 5 of you.

Thanks juniorbugman. Sea Trekking sounds like scuba for non swimmers. LOL. Many questions. How deep? How much does it cost? Age or health requirements? Is this only available at Coral world? Is there a web site for Coral world? Been on these boards for 2 years and cruised 5 times and never heard of it. You learn something new on these boards all the time.
Thanks.
