So I haven't been here in probably 15 years... and I know it gets mixed reviews on food... but honestly I can't remember the inside of the restaurant. Are there any bad seats? I know not everyone is next to the tank but it I'm willing to risk the food will my kids be able to see the fish regardless of our seating? (Basically I'm willing to risk the food for the atmosphere but if I am risking not getting either I'll pass!)

From what I remember, there wasn't really a bad seat in the house. We waited an extra 15 min in 2009 to get right against the glass. So if you are willing to wait, you could even get a better seat.

In 2007 we sat all the way in the back, we still were able to see everything and the "fish descriptions" on the table were a real treat.

(make sure to try the Creme Brulee!)

CR is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant! As the PP said, there really aren't any bad seats, they are banqettes all facing the tanks, and arranged in tiers. IMO, you really get a better and broader view than from the small tables right next to the tanks.

I agree with the previous posters--there's not a bad seat. In fact, I thought what the pp said. You get a better view sitting away from the tank than right up on it.

Thanks! That's what I was hoping to hear! I'm willing to chance the reviews if I don't have to chance the fish. :thumbsup2

I loved Coral Reef. We were at the back tier and still had a good view. We did see kids from other tables pushing through the people who were seated AT the windows so the reviews are true on that. You may be happier away from that. The meal did go a little longer than some of our other TS places but not unpleasantly long, just relaxingly long if that makes sense. There's a better longer review (with pics) in my trip report, and there's a link in my signature.

Coral reef was one of out TS's when DH and I went in Jan. We were seated right next to the tank. Beautiful with the sting rays and sharks swimming right by. Very Noisy though. It was an adults only weekend, so maybe I was a little sensitive to all the children yelling what seemed to be in my ear the entire meal. We may have enjoyed being a little further back, but secretly I had wished to be right beside the tank and loved that portion of it!!!
On the other hand, DH got a chicken entree while I got the sea bass. Great food! The chocolate wave dessert was awesome! Of course I am a choco-holic :)
IMHO Coral Reef was a good use of one of out TS's! Am I going again in June? Not currently, but only because our goal is try so different places, and the only repeats we're doing is Chef Mickey's for breakfast (for DD9 of course ;0, and Tappen Edo- because Japanses is a fav. for all of us!)
