My DF and I are going to Disney for the first time in Dec to celebrate our honeymoon. I am looking into the Coral Reef resturant for the restaurant itself, the atmosphere and such as neither of us are big on sea food. We are just wondering if it's worth it for the steak and/or chicken meals? Or would we be futher ahead booking somewhere else for a nice dinner?

I ate there in March during my last trip. We liked it, my husband had a steak and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great. Having said that, we probably wouldn't go back because the food wasn't all that spectacular. I think for steak you could try Le Cellier - if you can get in!

We love Coral Reef - usually book it each trip. My DD is a very picky eater & she enjoyed the chicken. My DS always orders the steak & has never been disappointed. I've enjoyed the steak & the mahi mahi. The chocolate wave for dessert is great!

We ate at Coral Reef on Tuesday and everyone ordered seafood so I can't comment on the chicken or steak. Everyone loved it though. The atmosphere is nice.
Tonight we ate at LeCellier and we all enjoyed that as well. Everyone pretty much ordered the Filet Mignon and it was very good. I've read a lot about the cheddar cheese soup and can't figure out what the rave is all about. The same with the pretzel bread but maybe some can't get hot pretzels where they live.

I read on here that you can do some special things there if you want to surprise your then new wifey. They will do personalized menus if you contact them and you can hire a diver to come down with a sign for them. I thought the setting was very romantic when we went there on our honeymoon and I am considering going back when we take the kids this December to surprise them with the sign.

oh darn. i am a bad diser and I guess they stopped doing both since the last time I researched it.

But the restaurant is still romantic in my opinion (but mediocre food - edible but not fantastic)

Thanks! I think we will keep it, even if we end up with chicken. We were thinking about Le Cellier- however we are from canada and have steakhouses available at all times and I dont know how well it would measure up. Definitly excited for our trip though!
