I know I am thinking about this waaayy too early but for our upcoming trip I would like to take DH to Coral Reef for his birthday and have a diver flash him the Happy Birthday sign. Does anybody know how far in advance you have to arrange this? Is there a cost? Will they personalize it?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

I have never seen how far in advance it must be arranged. I was concerned
we were too late for our August trip--we managed to arrange it only a month in advance. It is based on diver availability. They will personalize it, and do beautiful personalized menus all for free! Good luck!:goodvibes

Book it as soon as you have a confirmation number for your ADR.

There are a limited number of divers per day, and it's first come/first served.

I would say book it soon. you just email or call Debby at the resturant and she is great! I did this for my dh to celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary and he is still talking about it. I also did the personalized menu. Go for it

I just called yesterday for the Birthday diver for December. I was told that they will try to get us close to the tank, but cannot guarantee a tankside table. Does anyone have tips on how to ensure better chance to get table next to tank? Check in early??:confused3

Was wondering if anyone knows what time the diver is in the tanks, so we can plan our ADR accordingly?

I don't know the exact hours, but we had a diver at 6 pm last year and DH arranged for it at noon this year so they do both at "prime" lunch and dinner times. Why not shoot Debi a call or email?

I may have missed it! Is there a cost for this. We have reservations in a month and if theres not to much of a cost I would love to surprise my husband and in laws. I think it would be cute as we both just celebrated our aniversary our is 3 years theirs being 29 thought it would be neat.

and does any one have the email to the lady you all mentioned

It's FREE!! :cool1:

Must be prior to 8:00 pm I was told. Only a few each night, so call as soon as you make your ADR.

We ate at 2:00 pm and a diver came down for a different table, so yes as of last year.

We have reservations for the 15th of August at noon. I just emailed Debbiwith all my info and we are all set up with a diver for my anniversary  DH has no idea that I have done this he just thinks that I got special menus made up for our daughters birthdays princess: princess: . Debbi is great, the only thing she said, she could not promise a seat by the tank.

Can somebody please tell me where I could get the info to e-mail Debbi?

Thanks!

I can't find her email as we did the personalized menu in January of this year. They won't do divers after 8 PM....we had an 8:15 ADR and she could only offer us the menus.

Anyone else have her email???? :confused3

Yes ---they DO have the diver at lunch. We have 12:30 reservations and I was able to get the diver as a surprise for my 21st Anniversary and my son's High School Graduation surprise.:cool1:

Thanks for corroborating my info that they have divers at lunch, PPs! :yay: I wouldn't have written it if I wasn't sure.

Hold back the flames! No one was implying that you were wrong. They were just confirming what you said, which I really appreciate. You may not write something if you're not 100% sure, but some people will. I have asked questions before and got 10 people who said yes, and 10 people who said no. I like to hear all of the yes's, because it leaves no doubt in my mind.

No flames here, promise! I was grateful that others posted that they are having the same experience, that's all.

ETA: no explanation was necessary from you, I understood totally. You wanted confirmation and I wanted corroboration. That's being on the same page, don't you think? :-) So, no worries. I try to only post what I have actual experience with, the truth is important to me.

Debbi doesn't want her email given out here on the boards. Contact the Coral Reef, and they'll transfer you to her voice mail so you can leave a message with name, ADR # and your phone number and/or email address. She'll call or email you back within a week or sometimes less.
