We will be at CR for lunch on 12/4-
party of: me, DH and DD6 and DS2

So is the view better close up, as in a tank side seat (if we are to be so lucky) or is the view actually better from farther away.
I would think both are good, but what if you are tank side and nothing is there to look at? At least from a far table you can see more?

We have one of the first lunch ADRs and are celebrating the babies birthday that week, so we may be offered a tank table and then I worry about not having anything to look at?

Thoughts? or really not a big deal and move on? I can handle the truth. ;)

Any pics of either views?
Thanks!

We eat at Coral Reef almost every trip and have sat all over this place. Personally, I think the tankside seats are way too close. You have a somewhat blurred vision of a very small area of the tank. I prefer to sit in the booths that are on the first tier but 5-6 feet back from the tank. The tables and booths on the second tier also offer excellent views.

Except for the very back, which is generally where larger parties seem to be seated, the seats are all good. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Since you are a party of 4 and going for an early lunch, I would think you have a good chance of being seated tankside.

As a party of two, I have been seated both right up against the tank, and in the tables right next to those tables. :) Both were good, but there was something pretty cool about having the sharks, turtles, rays etc *right* next to you! You won't have a bad view, though - and if you're willing to wait, I believe you can ask to be seated as close as possible. No guarantees but I think they try to help you out if they can. :)

When we checked in at the podium in May I simply asked to be seated where the children would have an unobstructed view of the tank. (The walls between the tiers of seating have a wavy top, therefore some tables would have seats from which a child could not see over the wall.) We were given a tank side table for 4 right about the time of our ADR. (We had checked in 15 minutes early as they request.) The girls loved it.

We had a table right against the front wall of the second tier and enjoyed it very much. Great view. The first table along the tank looked like they weren't having too much fun because that's where the turtle decided to take a snooze and tons of strangers came and stood right next to this poor family while they were eating. Right against the tank does not appeal to me.. too many people fail to realize that it's the same tank on the other side of the Living Seas so they potentially ruin other peoples experiences.
