We ate at Coral Reef as a party of 5 in the past and was able to sit in one of their booths. With a party of 7, would we all be able to sit together? It doesn't look like the layout of the restaurant can push tables together.

Maybe I'm just making it up, but I recall chairs facing into those booths on the top tier...making a party of 7-8(?).

They have booths that are set up that they can break them into two parties of 4 or one large party. Not sure if the table has a leaf they can raise but you certainly can sit together. Look where there are two tables with slight split in a single booth area.

We had 9, and they put us at those booths in the picture above.

We had a party of 7, and they placed us at a booth that had two separate tables. It was very awkward since our youngest was in a highchair. She had to be placed between the tables because it felt like she would be in the way on the outside. I felt like we weren't eating together, just near each other. I was a little annoyed.

Looking at these pictures, it seems the only options are the small tables (which might mean a large party wouldn't even be able to be seated near each other) or the double four-booths. It would most likely be a safety hazard to place any kind of leaf between the tables.

Although I understand your annoyance that was really about fire codes and building egress. A restaurant cannot block the spaces between tables in walkways. From the pictures above there would be no other place for the high chair that doesn't block the walkway and a blocked walkway leads to people jamming in the panic of fire situation leading to casualties.

I totally understand that. It was the sitting at two different tables that was really weird.
