A couple questions:

We have a PSA for Coral Reef and I've heard mixed reviews. What's good on the menu, what's best to skip?

Also, we are staying at the POFQ. Anyone know if they offer room service? we're looking for breakfast in bed and late-night munchies.

Thanks in advance!!:jester:

Can't tell you about Coral Reef, I cancelled our PS ressies after reading alot of negative stuff on these boards. As for POFQ-no room service except for pizza delivery is available. They will deliver you the pizza from the food court (including meatball sandwiches and a couple other choices (salad drinks) until midnight I think it is.

I've been to Coral Reef a couple of times and the menu seems to be hit and miss as far as the regular entre's go. Some were really good and some I'd never order again.

My advice is try it - the menu changes often so last weeks complaint may not be available on this weeks menu.

They do have the BEST Lobster bisque soup that was on the menu the last 2 times and this Chocolate lava cake for dessert that was out of this world!! (for a few of the good things on the menu). If nothing else, you will love the atmosphere!

As for POR-FQ and room service ---

I've only stayed at POR-riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) but they are sister resorts and share everything. They have a resort pizza takeout menu in the room as a previous poster mentioned and I've also seen people have "Pizza-hut" delivered to the resort rooms - I guess from a local Orlando Pizza hut. Something I would never have thought to do.

Have a great time!!

Don't let other reviews let you miss out on a good thing! Granted, we have only eaten there twice, but both times it was WONDERFUL!!! I had the Mahi Mahi this past trip, which was sooo good(on wasabi potatoes...don't take a BIG bite!) ;) My DH always gets the surf and turf (filet or the available cut and lobster.) It is not on the menu, but they can arrange for what ever you'd like. He thinks the meat is cooked perfectly and the lobster has been great both times. We love the dessert, with the chocolate wave being the best, IMO.

We all have different tastes...people here absolutely rave about Marrekesh (Morroco) and we thought it was not good at all. Go and see for yourself!

thanks everyone!! that's exactly what i needed to know!

We ate there this summer for lunch and absolutely loved it! Not only were the kids entertained with the scuba divers feeding the fish, but the food was terrific. I had some type of shrimp dish. The chocolate dessert was awesome! I don't know whether it was the lava cake or not. ENJOY!!!!!

If you really want to get breakfast from room service and stay at a moderate, you'll need to go to CSR. It's the only one with full room service. But the pizza, salads, and sandwiches at PO are very good. It's also a very quick walk from any of the rooms to the food court if you want a bigger selection.

Coral Reef was one of our best meals this past June. I agree that the lobster bisque was absolutely the best. Next time, my plan is to order two lobster bisques and just have that with the bread they serve.

I can't exactly remember what we had, there were four of us. But my father said it was his favorite meal, and he is a grumpy, quick-to-complain older guy.

Having stayed at POFQ, may I suggest this:
there is no Breakfast room service, but the Food Court food is not bad. Request one of the buildings close to the Main area, and once you're awake, have someone grab the refillable mugs and go fetch breakfast, and take it back to your room. We did this several times and it worked out great. Not really room service stuff, but if you've got a nearby room, its a quick walk for a cheap meal.

We ate at Coral Reef a little over a year ago, and our food was good. I had a chicken entree and my Fiancee had some kind of steak entree. I still remember our server's name was Mario, because he was our favorite of the whole trip.
