Coral Reef restaurant reviews

When we went I really struggled to find something I would like on the menu. I’m not sure if others would agree with me, but I wish WDW would have normal dishes and not these fancy dishes that not everyone enjoys. If the menu had more every day type dishes, we’d return to Coral Reef again and again.
I agree with this. I like the atmosphere and the airconditioned break in the middle of the day. Don't love the menu. Last two times I've gone I got the chicken wing appetizer and then the chicken off the children's menu.

Then you had to take a "hydrolator" back up, so you couldn't just go in the back door to the aquarium. It was all gated through the queue.
Actually, you could do this even back then. All you needed to do was to go around to the "exit" and wait for the hydrolator doors to open and the passengers to exit. Then you could immediately go into the hydrolator. The hit doors would close and the attraction doors would open allowing you into the sea base.

On the topic of menu items can anyone give me their review of the Coastal Palm Cakes?

Hello,
I read some current reviews on a FB page. Has anyone gone lately and had a good review?
Thx
We went today. My dad had the snapper which he hated, my son had Mac and cheese (he said was good) and I had lobster bisque/salad (very average). The food is not great here but we love the view of the aquarium as we’ve done dive quest many times and we reminisce each time we go here. If you love aquariums you might be able to look past the food. If you want a good or great meal, plenty of other options at Epcot (including some QS) that are better.

I guess I am easy to please since I have never had a bad meal there yet and it's one of my faves. It's not fine dining or anything but it's at least on par with any of your favorite chain restaurants, in my opinion and the ambience is always wonderful. I always get the mahi mahi fish though last December I think it had been replaced with a different main course fish but I loved it just as much. I always enjoy the apps I get as well and the dessert.

The pineapple-coconut bread pudding was delicious. My husband and I both liked it better than 'Ohana's. The rolls are also quite good.

In fact, if the chicken were just a little bit better (it was pretty dry and bland), or if they put salmon on their menu, we'd go here a lot. I love the early EPCOTness of it. Our service was good, too.
