I was able to get a ressie at 8:00 pm; what are my chances of getting seated on time and out of the restaurant in time for illuminations?

a million to none!:rotfl2:

We have had reservations before @ 7:30 to 7:50 and once we made it out to see the last few minutes and the other time it was over. Hopefully, it will work out for you. :)

You won't get to see Illuminations that night, but you will miss those crowds. :thumbsup2 You may not even be seated by 8pm, but it will be a good meal once you are seated. Just plan to enjoy CR that night, they do Illuminations every night, catch it another time.

Ummmm about nill to none ;)

Seriously, CR is over in the Living Seas area in FW and even if you in some miracle were seated right at 8pm (not gonna happen) then you'd probably still not be done before it was over ;)

I'd either keep calling back to try to change the ressie, or enjoy a relax meal away from the crowds and plan Illuminations on a different evening ::yes::

Or.... try for a lunch ressie. Much easier to get, cheaper prices (if paying OOP) with many of the same menu items

I vote for slim to none, too =)

We were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time at CR last trip. They are pretty notorious for running late...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Wait - I meant to say :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

In a nutshell, I'm saying nope, no way possible will you be in on time and out in an hour.

Excuse our manners, none of us said "Welcome to DIS", we're glad to have you. Also excuse our humor, it just makes it so much more fun here. :thumbsup2

They're right when they say next to none. It would be difficult getting seated, eating, and paying in an hour anywhere, but especially at Coral Reef. CR is notoriously slow in seating people, and the service can be quite slow as well.

And :welcome: to the Dis!

At least you will get a great meal and it is a hard to get ressies so congrats!

We had reservations at a similar time on our last trip. We had a wonderful relaxing meal and the best part was that when we were done, the crowds had already departed Epcot and we had no problem grabbing a seat on the bus back to our resort.

We just went to the Coral Reef last week; reservation was for 8:10. We didn't make it out until at least 9:45 or so.

Service was horribly slow and left a lot to be desired. That was the 4th time I have been and each time it gets worse. The first time, service was great.

The waiter apparently was trying to serve too many people. It took forever before he even stopped by our table. And then, it was to tell us that he had not forgotten about us, but that he was busy doing other things and would be with us soon. I think he sensed that I did not like that, so he sent someone else over and her whole tone of voice was very condesending and sarcastic from the beginning.

He never brought water and when it came time for dessert. He brought out the spoons for the ice cream for the kids and after 20 minutes of waiting for the ice cream, and we had just decided to go ahead and leave, he showed up with ice cream.

We were on the DDP, so at least I had a chance to control the amount of his tip. I spoke to a manager first to tell her of our experience.

Don't think we will return there any time soon. We had excellent service at the other restaurants we chose.

Wow, glad our ADR is for an early dinner (5:10 pm). We normally don't eat that early but at least I know we'll be done in time for Fantasmic! :lmao: But then again if seating and service is behind, we may eat closer to our normal dinner time. :rotfl:

I made our ressies for 4:00pm so we will be in the first batch of dinner guests, and hopefully won't have to wait too long to be seated.

Then again, last year we had 11:35am ressies at LeCellier (first time slot available during lunch) and arrived early as instructed, and still had to wait until Noon to be sat. So one never knows with Disney, but it is safe to say that you'll never make Illuminations in time. Sorry!
