we liked this restaurant very much, but we were seated on the third tier, and wondered if we need to do anything special to be seated right next to the tank? Do we need to mention when we make our PS, or just when we come to be seated? Will they honor it? We don't mind if we have to wait longer, as long as we can get the next available table right next to the tank for the kids.......................

paige - my sis and I got to sit right next to the tank with our DNeph for the CP package last Dec. I made the very first PS at opening and we arrived 15 minutes before that - requested to be seated next to the tank when we checked in. It was awesome and we also had great service and delicious food - DNeph LOVED sitting next to the fish - held his attention throughout the whole meal - as we were eating dessert a diving tour came through the tank and came right up to the windows, waving at us and doing flips, etc - it was great ! If you don't want to eat at first seating, you can ask how long the wait would be for a table by the tank and then decide whether to wait for one.

When i went in December, we made a PS the day before for lunch but didnt ask specifically for the tank.

Next day we got there, late lunch, like maybe an hour or so before it closed for lunch...but we got right in and a seat right next to the tank :)

So I dont think you have to specifically ask for it, but just go at a less crowded time or happen to luck out while waiting during more crowded times.

And it was really enjoyable sitting by the tank, it turned it into more then just a restaurant experience...like an attraction while eating...kinda like the Garden Grille :)

Its funny cause we didnt plan on eating here before the trip and had never eaten there before...but after this trip, the Coral Reef is now on our list of "Go to" restaurants based on the tank and the food (especially desserts!) :) :)

Last Thursday, we had a PS for 6 p.m., and when we arrived, asked to be seated next to the glass. The hostess said it might be 30 mins. or more before we were seated, but as this was our last meal of the trip, that didn't bother us. As it turns out, we were shown our table in under 15 mins, and it was great. My DW enjoyed it as much as the DD4 did! I would certainly ask the host or hostess for a table next to the tank when you show up if you don't mind waiting. Keep in mind that on busy nights or during the busy seasons, you may wait quite awhile. Good luck and enjoy Coral Reef. I did a review of it in an earlier post if you're interested: Sleepydog's Dining Delights and Low Lights.

I agree, I think my friend and I took the first available lunch PS seating and got there 15 minutes early. It was our first time, so we didn't even know to make any requests, but we were seated next to the tank. We loved the experience! Enjoy!

We ate there in Feb. and we were in one of the closest booths to the aquarium. We didn't request it at anytime. We did have a PS for 12 and we arrived a little early, so the restaurant was mostly empty when we were seated. We're doing the exact same thing in May, and we'll be sure to get there early again and hopefully we'll get another close booth! :wizard:
