Sending this question out to the experts...

Which is better with young children (DD 3 years old and DD 18 months), Coral Reef or Sci Fi? Have read good and bad about CR and only good about Sci Fi.

TIA!!!!

we went to both, without kid,s in 2007, and now having a 2 year old, I would definitely say Coral Reef. (heck, I'd say that even without a kid)

We found Sci Fi to be very loud, to the extent that I think my kid would not have fun. The movie clips shown may grab the attention of the kids because they are moving images, but I don't think the subject matter will connect.

We like both Coral Reef & Sci Fi - if I were choosing between the two, I would definitely pick Coral Reef. Coral Reef has a great atmosphere with the giant aquarium - it's neat to see sharks, sea turtles, rays, and other creatures swim by while you dine + we've always had excellent meals there.

We like Scif Fi for sandwiches - it's a nice lunch option for us in DHS. Sci Fi is good, but could be scary for young children because it's dark and old monster clips play on the big screen. We took our 4 yr old for the first time last year & he had a fun time eating in the car-table & watching the old movie clips, but I don't know if he would have liked it at 2-3 yrs old.

Sci Fi can be really dark inside. Also the seating is not normal dining seating which may be difficult with young children. Coral Reef has the aquarium so it will keep the kiddies occupied. Have fun!

Hands down SCI-FI.

We've tried the coral reef twice now and haven't liked the food either time. My kids were 4 and 1, last Nov. For sure they enjoyed the aquarium aspect, but they also love the car with the movies at the SCI-FI.

We enjoy the food at SCI-FI and yes it's dark but its not that bad and get your DD the tinkerbell drink that lights up and everything will be great!

I think your children will enjoy either restraunt. It really comes down to your preference in food. I didn't enjoy the seafood at the CR either time I've been there, and SCI-FI is american food which is hard to get wrong.

We've been to both several times -- in fact, we've eaten at Coral Reef every trip. We would pick Coral Reef over Sci Fi because in our experience the food is consistently better at Coral Reef and because the seating at Sci Fi (if you sit in a car) is very challenging (everyone sits facing forward -- it's a car! -- and so you'll be one adult/one child per row -- although as I'm thinking about it, I can't picture any kind of high chair/child seat arrangement for the cars so you might in fact be seated at one of the regular tables in the back -- can anyone else comment on this?....). Sci Fi is very dark and very loud -- whereas Coral Reef is more quiet and peaceful.

Coral Reef definitely!! Sci-fi was awful. Its loud, to dark and the food selection wasn't very good. We got the ribs and it was a very small portion for the price and they weren't very good. The Coral Reef was wonderful for all my 4 yr old loved it. Food was great and service was outstanding. Good luck & have fun!

If they were next door to each other I would tell you to go to the one that you think would appeal to your children more. Fish or movies. My 4 yr old loved Scifi as does our friends 3 yr old. Sitting in a car was a big deal. It was dark so the light up ice cubes looked extra cool. It was my 7 yr old who was not so thrilled about the movie previews and told us he will not go back on our next trip.

Based on food I would say SciFi because I thought the food was decent and the coral reef food does not appeal to me at all. But you may be different, my family is happier with more simple hamburgers and milkshakes. Also SciFi is slightly less expensive. Both rate similarly at allears.

If you are planning around your park schedule go to the one closest to where you will be.

We love Sci-Fi, but DS is 8 and loves the movie trailers. With kids as young as yours I'd have to suggest Coral Reef. We enjoyed it as well, and it's just better suited to your kid's ages.
