I have an ADR for coral reef. We went there when I was younger (15 yrs ago now) and I remember every minute of the visit. We loved it. I thought the fish swimming by would be fun for my DDs. But I keep seeing not great reviews and am wondering if we should switch to Askerhaus for dinner. The reviews there seem to be mixed. My DDs do love the princesses, but would they eat the food? We already have one character meal, so while that is cool, I'm also looking at food quality as my DH really likes the meal part of our trip and keeping him happy means we go more often. . . Thoughts??

I wouldn't worry about your kiddos not eating the food here. The children's menu is very normal, hot dogs, corn, fries and so on. However, I can't promise you that the adults will be happy with their food. We experienced this dinner for ourself about 2 years ago. Starters included salad and bread, (good), shared appetizer plate with baby shrimp salad, pickled mackerel, peppered herring and some kind of potato salad, (all very icky). Our main course was very bland. It appears that using spices of any kind must be illegal in Norway. Dessert was a sampler also. The chocholate mousse was ok.

I cannot remember ever being at another WDW restaurant were my DH and I were jealous of our DD's kid's meal.popcorn::

We went to Norway for a princess breakfast in Feb. 07 and enjoyed it food and all.

So, if your looking for princess interaction go for breakfast and enjoy seeing the fish swim while you enjoy a nice steak dinner at Coral Reef that night.

Freinds don't let friends eat lunch or dinner in Norway!!!!:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

I'm a Coral Reef fan. Good Service, good food, good atmosphere. I cannot compare the two for food quality - Ive not been to Norway to eat.

I would choose Norway over Coral reef but that is mostly because living right on the chesapeake bay, I am use to better seafood than they serve at Coral Reef. The on time we ate at Coral Reef it was very chaotic and all the seafood tasted mushy. Admitedly Norwegian food is not for everyone, but if you and DH are adventurous eaters I would say go for Norway

Thanks for the input. Living near atlanta, we don't always get fresh seafood, and we love it, so I'm still leaning in that direction. I may switch askerhaus with chef mickey's for our character breakfast and keep coral reef. . . it is great to have your thoughts here, since we don't go quite often enough (who does?) to be able to make the perfect decision!

Thanks.:goodvibes

Breakfast at Norway is good. If you have a princess in your midst I would really keep this ADR for breakfast ONLY!!! popcorn::
