Coral Reef - Lunch or Dinner? Or Pick Another Place?

We're on the DDP for 3 days next weekend and we just got ADRs for lunch at Coral Reef. I see the menu looks pretty much the same for lunch and dinner, but the prices are higher at dinner. I'm curious as to whether the portions are larger at dinner, or if it's just a higher price because it's dinner. I'm wondering if we should perhaps try to get a dinner ADR instead.

On a related note - this is our ONE meal in Epcot. Le Cellier is booked, and we don't want to do a buffet. Would you recommend something else over Coral Reef, or is it a good choice. It's us and our 6 and 7 year old kids. Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Coral Reef. The menus are essentially the same (however, as picky as I am I ate from the children's menu!), and the beauty of the fishies and such in the aquarium is still amazing! ;) Be sure to try the chocolate wave dessert. Outside of CS, the only other TS place in Epcot I've eaten at is Alfredos which some people love, some don't...but I'd try it now if you want to, since it closes in Aug.! I think Coral Reef is a great place! Enjoy your trip! :)

Way over rated!!!!!! We were there in Dec and I have to say we were so disappointed!!! Food was ok and if you do not get a seat next to the tank it is realy not worth it. We enjoyed the Beiregarten, although it is a buffet. You may have better luck with the Coral reef than we did, have a great trip.

I've been there for both lunch and dinner, and coincidently I ordered the same meal and sat at the same table both times! The only difference I found is that it's much quieter, more relaxed, for lunch. I was pleased both times, but I prefer lunchtime for that.

We could not get dinner at the CR either so we are having a late lunch, based on our previous experience here we will have a great meal and be stuffed to the gills..

Another place we really enjoy is Rose and Crown, food and service always good.

We have had lunch and dinner here recently and now chose lunch only. Dinner is chaotic and noisey and just crazy. While lunch is quiet and relaxing. On a side note. Since it's usually the 2 of us, we are seated next to the tank 50% of the time. It's nice with the water next to you, but you don't get to see squat. Sitting back farther away gives you a fanastic view. So we really like the upper tier seating. As for the meal sizes, I've not found too much different and have never left hungry. We leave next week and have Coral Reef reserved for 2 different days for our 2 week trip.

Thanks, guys! I can't believe it's almost time to pack up and head to Disney. 4 more days...

I love this restraunt. We always make our dinner reservations between 5 and 5:30 pm in order to watch the divers who are doing DiveQuest. I highly suggest an early dinner to have the interaction with the Divers (they will wave and talk to the restraunt customers in gestures which always crack me up).

Just curious if they charged you extra for ordering a kids meal, or was it the usual kid's cost???

We ate at the Coral Reef for lunch on our March trip and we booked it for lunch again on our honeymoon. IMHO, the atmosphere is completely worth it. The tank is awesome. I hate LeCellier was booked. We got lucky enough to book it for dinner that night also. It's our favorite restaurant at EPCOT.

We ate at Coral Reef this past Wednesday. It was overpriced for what we got even compared to other Disney restaurants and the food was just average. We have now crossed it off our list for good.
