I want to make just one p.s at Epcot on our next vacation. We ate at The garden grill in Jan. and loved it. We would go back in a heart beat but I thought maybe we should try something different. Is the coral reef in the living seas really nice? Whats it like? I have 4 children ranging from 9 to 2 and want somewhere neat for them. I heard there is a huge aquarium. Un fortunetly we didn't even make it to the Living seas pavillion on our trip. Thanks for any input. Is there anywhere I could see pix of it?::yes::

It's not very good. You should make a PS somewhere in World Showcase. :)

the aquarium is cool. there is a menu on www.allearsnet.com to see if everyone in your party would like something on the menu. we always make a ps for this resturaunt every trip. its more on the expensive side, but ive never had a bad meal. The chocolate wave is awesome...love that desert.

We didnt like it. The fish tank is neat, but you can see that and a whole lot more by touring the Living Seas pavillion. I think it is pricey and the portions are small. I would check out the menu and see how much it interests you before going.

Not one of our favorites. There are so many better places to go.

ITA!::yes:: ::yes::

I would do Biergarten! They have a large buffet...and alot of entertainment to keep the kids busy!

Well, since neither my husband nor myself are seafood likers I think we will skip it. There is a beef tenderloin but its pricey and the kids meals are exspensive too. I thought if it was really fun to dine in it would be worth it. If we can see the aquarium without eating there then we will eat somewhere else.

What is the entertainment at Biergaten? What kind of food is the buffet?
Thanks!!!:smooth: ::MinnieMo pirate: :Pinkbounc

The buffet consists of some German favorites like Sauerbraten etc. to standard American dishes like roasted chicken.
As far as the entertainment is concerned, they have yodeling contests, oompa bands & and what I call RICOLA horn blowers! Often, children as well as adults are encourage to dance on the dance floor!

just click on the Epcot(at top), then click onto Germany(right)

Okay guys come on!! The Coral reef is so great! How can you not like it? They have the best food anywhere in my opinion. Im 16 and the pickiest eater in the world and I love it there. I think that yes it is pricy but its so worth it! And they have the best atmosphere, apart from the sci fi, and the waiters are great too! I eat off the kids menu because all the other adult meals are too big in their portions. And they come with those green beans and i hate them so they give me fries instead. And for me thats a big deal! So I say gove it a shot. If you dont like it then dont go back. But I think that seafood is good because you know exactly what you are eating. Whereas in Germany, you could get Brats and have no idea what is actually in there.~

They're both great, just depends on what you're looking for. We loved Coral Reef for the ambience, and their chocolate wave dessert is (supposedly) voted best dessert at WDW. Maybe just go for the dessert? We do that sometimes. But if I had to judge just based on food, it's a seafood restaurant, and you probably have similar if not better seafood restaurants in your area.

Biergarten is very unique, love the atmosphere, and the Oktoberfest style seating arrangement. It is a very meat-and-potatoes buffet, but we love the ambience. Just based on food, the food at WDW can be great, but not totally unique to Disney. Mixing in the ambience is what makes it "Disney" for us. So, depending on what you're in the mood for, either Coral Reef or Biergarten is great!

We eat a meal at Coral Reef on every trip. We enjoy the atmosphere, and the food has always been very good.

The only time we were less than satisfied was when they were refurbishing the tank...it's the kind of place where, for us at least, the atmosphere "makes"the meal more than the food does.

We do like Coral Reef too! In fact my DDs made me change our PS at LeCellier to Coral Reef!

PS. gotta love that Chocolate Wave

I just dined at the Coral Reef last week and it was excellent. There are a few options other than seafood, recently a diversity choice, which changes occasionally, was added to the menu. Last week the diversity plate was barbeque ribs with coleslaw and potatoes. The meat was so tender it fell off the bones.

I totally agree that the chocolate wave is to die for!

I have to agree that I like Coral Reef! If not for the ambiance, for the Chocolate Wave. We are going in Sept and my DH has mentioned that desert so many times in the last month, I don't know if I'll make it to Sept without killing him! :teeth:

Germany is a great buffett, too. Can't make a BAD decision for food at Disney in my opinion. :D Ymmmm......

It's an ok place to go to see fish, but not so great for eating them. We didn't care for the place, other than the fish tank.

The food at the Coral Reef is on the pricey side because it's a little more on the "fine dining" end of things. Ordinary folks like me may not notice some of the fine points that those with more "refined palates" would.

Having said that - it's a lovely restaurant. You might enjoy just going inside for a minute to see the tank. (If it isn't crowded, this should not be a problem.)

It's not worth it. The decor is outdated and the food is only so-so and a rip. The view is the only nice thing, so I would only go there for dessert. I was very excited to go there after seeing photos, but it was a total letdown. The problem wasn't my taste either, I love seafood from the finer seafood restaurants in my city. It could be much more attractive with a renovation and a menu change.

The dacor is so not outdated. They redid it from those ugly yarn fish a few years ago and looks really nice. So if yuve gone recently and are saying that you must be very hard to please because it looks great. And the food id great and yes it may be a bit expensive but go during lunch and they give you the same things that are on the dinner menu at a cheaper price.~:(
