Just ate at the Coral Reef today. Showed up and hour late and even though restaurant was 80%+ filled got our party of 8 seated together. Service was great! Mulan (yes thats was her name) was extremely attentive. Drinks refilled without asking and before finishing. Food came out in a timely manor and hot as well. I, as usual ordered the wrong entree. I ordered the mahi-mahi, I felt that it was bland, but DW ordered the rainbow trout and she didnt care for the flavor, so we swapped and i loved the trout and she loved the mahi-mahi. To me there is nothing worse than cold fish and both of our came out hot. DD-12 oredered the strip steak med-rare and it came out hot and med-rare. My DFIL whose was practically raised in the Chicago stock yards gave it a very high for not being at a chicago steak house "not bad." Desserts were very good as well. DFIL inhaled the passion fruit creme brulee. DW and myself got the "wave" and DD-12 enjoyed the napolean cheese cake.
My only complaint would be the lake of choices for my younger three DDs. Kids choices are pizza or grilled fish.
Over all ambiance was great, service was excellent, and food was very good, once I found the right entree. Definitely would go back.

Oh, yay-I'm glad you guys liked it-it's one of our faves, we go every trip.

For the little people-last time my DS4 (3 at the time) got a really nice grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables-he ate every bite, and then had it again with my sisters later in the week.

My little boys really like the make your own dessert-it's small, but they really don't need more than that.

We never had a bad experience here! Glad you enjoyed it.

Glad you had a good experience. It's nice to hear positive posts as I have read so many negative ones on Coral Reef. We had dinner there last month and had a wonderful time. It is one of our fav places at Disney and we always enjoy it. Thanks for your post and again, I'm happy you had a good time.

Enjoy The Magic!!

Nice to hear a good review for Coral Reef! My party of 7 will be dining there in Jan. '12 Can't wait!:thumbsup2

We've only been there once, but we had a great experience as well. I thought the menu was a bit limited, but it seems to be that way at nearly all the Disney restaurants.

The service was a bit slow, but I'm the type that likes to get the food ASAP, and I don't feel like I'm being "rushed." I just feel like I didn't have to wait for food, lol.

So glad to read a good review of this restaurant.

Coral Reef is the one restaurant that is always a must do for us. Never had a bad meal or bad service yet. My only complaint is that they got rid of the blackened catfish, but I do love the Mahi Mahi. My DS13 says that they have the best steak he's ever eaten.

Another Coral Reef fan here :yay: Glad the OP had a good experience. Coral Reef is my favorite WDW restaurant - I always get the steak and it's superb every time.

Glad things worked out :thumbsup2. We love Coral Reef. It's a must do for us.

:goodvibes Good to hear. We have eaten at Coral Reef 3 times and have never had a bad experience. It is one of our favs!

Glad you had a great meal.
Coral Reef is a popular place to beat up on. But, my two visits there have been quite good. Plus, I just love the aquarium.
