sry guys this isnt a review! I'm going to Disney in august and we're trying out these restaurants for the first time. I was just wondering what you guys think about them. Especially Boma, i've read that it's "different" and i've read that it's excellent. We're not rediculously adventerous when it comes to food, always up for something new but....you get what i'm saying. I'm just wodering if we should think about changing the reservation for that night. ( the first night!!!) CAN'T WAIT TO READ YOUR OPINIONS :coffee:

I have only gone to Boma and it is terrific! My DH and I always go there after a day at AK. The food is great. There are plenty of things that will be different but also foods that are familiar (mac and cheese, chix fing.) The bread pudding is 2 die for. It can get busy though so make ADR way in advance. You can check out the menu at allears.net.
Have a good trip!

Coral Reef is also an excellent choice, but also very busy. Maybe vary the times you eat your meals for best seating. Most of the options at Coral Reef are seafood related, so I hope you like that, otherwise you can choose from chicken or steak. Even if you don't sit right next to the aquariums, the atmosphere is great! This was one of two restaurants my boyfriend asked to go back to this year!

Flying Fish, being the only signature restaurant on your list, is a wonderful dining experience. The best calamari I've ever had and I know it's a seafood restaurant but they also serve the best steak on Disney property, IMO!!:thumbsup2

Flying Fish has wonderful food and service - we can't wait to get back and eat there again! :goodvibes

Thanks a lot everybody!!! I can't wait to go!!!:hyper:

thanks a lot for the links gk90

We ate at Coral Reef on 2/15 of this month. I've been trying to find the time to do a dining report on each restaurant but I'm still behind with everyday life. As for the restaurant itself, we very much enjoyed it. There were three of us, my DH, myself and DS(9). We were able to sit on the main level, not right in front of the glass but an isle away from it in a half circular booth. My DH ordered the NY strip and I had the crab legs. Our son had the grilled chicken which he wasn't that thrilled with. He's a chicken strips boy so oh well. We both enjoyed the steak and crab legs. I haven't had crab legs in YEARS so they were very good I thought. Especially since they were ready to eat with no cracking of legs etc. I had the wave for dessert and he had the fresh fruit. The wave was okay I guess. I wasn't in love with it. I liked the chocolate cake at Whispering Canyon earlier in the week better. Each meal starts out with warm thinly sliced bread. It was good also but nothing spectacular. We loved the atmosphere though. Our seating was the best we had all week. Go figure, it was our last day. Our reservation was for 5:30 p.m. if that helps. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for our table also. We also were on the dining plan. Anything I missed? :) Hope this helps.

sorry i took so long! thanks a lot it sounds great i have no more doubts thank yooou!!!! :thumbsup2

CR and Boma's yes if on then DDP. Don't think any resturant is worth 2 credits on the DDP so FF is out.

Have eaten at Flying Fish many times and never had a bad meal (or dessert!) there. It's my fave disney restaurant.

I tried Boma for the first time, I did not like the different spices, I agree there is enough to try that you will not go away hungry. The prime rib was served 3 ways for all preferences (I picked rare) and I loved the little meatballs, and the potatoes and the seafood soup was great. The dessert bar was awesome. I think evryone should try it. The atmosphere and the service were great!!

Especially Boma, i've read that it's "different" and i've read that it's excellent. We're not rediculously adventerous when it comes to food, always up for something new but....you get what i'm saying.

For what it's worth, I'm a pretty picky eater (used to get loads of teasing about it from my family) with only a moderately adventurous palette and I had no trouble finding things to eat at Boma. I didn't even have to limit myself to things on the kids' area of the buffet (come to think of it, I'm not sure I even ate anything off the kids' buffet). There's enough variety to where nearly anyone could find something that would please them. The great thing about buffets is that you can sample things you're unsure about and if you end up hating it, you don't feel as if you've wasted money by ordering something you can't eat but you can go back for more if you end up loving it.

FF - excellent food, great service. A must-do each trip.

Boma - yes, it is more adventurous food, but our picky eaters have had no problem finding these they like. Even tried a few new things over the last 3 visits. What they liked, they liked alot.

Coral Reef - We have done it once. We felt it was overpriced seafood, trying very hard to be upscale, but just a slight step ahead of a fish camp (with way less frying and breading). The view was interesting, but the food was not memorable. The price was though. For our seafood dollar, it is FF all the way.
